You can export CSV files with your Dashlane data for each Dashlane app. You can also move passwords, passkeys, verification codes, and other item types between Dashlane and other participating password managers or third-party iOS apps that support Credential Exchange.

What do I need to know about exported CSV files?
Important: We recommend deleting the ZIP file and all the CSV files from your device when you're finished using the files. If you need to store a CSV file of your Dashlane data, use a USB drive and store the drive in a secure location.
You can export CSV files using any Dashlane app. If you're using the Dashlane web app in Safari, you might need to update to Safari version 18.1 or higher to open the exported file. You can also use another browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Opera.
You can import the CSV files into another Dashlane account or another password manager.
If you need to review the contents, you can open the files with a spreadsheet program, such as Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
- The logins and passwords file, which is labeled "credentials," doesn't include items shared with the Can autofill permission. These permissions mean that if someone shares an item with you, you can use the item but can't edit, copy, share, or change the permission level.
How do shared logins with the Can autofill permission work? - If you've saved information in the note section of a login, only the first line of the note will be visible when you open the CSV file. But the file contains the full note. You can double-click to verify that all your data is included in the note.
- You can't export passkeys using a CSV file. Although you might see passkeys in the CSV export, the passkeys won't work if you import the CSV back into Dashlane or another password manager.
- Attachments you've added to your Secure Notes can't be exported to a CSV file, so make sure to download any attachments you want to keep.
-
With Dashlane, you can set up a second layer of protection to access the accounts saved to your vault without needing a separate authentication app. When 2-factor authentication (2FA) is turned on for logins, you're asked for your password and a 2FA token.
Protect logins stored in Dashlane with 2FA
You can't directly export these 2-factor authentication (2FA) tokens from Dashlane to a CSV file. However, the CSV file named credentials contains a column named otpSecret. If you have 2FA turned on for a login stored in your Dashlane account, this column displays the 2FA setup code.
The setup code isn't your 2FA token and won't be added automatically to your login if you import the CSV to another password manager or authenticator. But you can use the setup code to transfer your 2FA protection for that login to another password manager or authenticator.
Important: If you're a member of a Dashlane professional plan, you might not have the option to export items from your Business Space. This option depends on your organization's policies. Contact your plan admin for more information. If you want to export personal items, you can move them to your Personal Space.
