Over the last several years, we’ve been transforming Dashlane to deliver even greater value to the customers and organizations who entrust us to help protect their digital lives.
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our offerings and focus resources on providing the highest level of service, support, and security, we’re revising our free offering, Dashlane Free.
As of November 7, new and existing Dashlane Free customers can save up to 25 logins in their vaults. If you're a Free customer, you can't add any new logins unless you upgrade or remove logins in your account to get below 25. The Free plan still includes our security features like unlimited secure sharing, passkeys management, and more.
If you have more than 25 logins but aren’t ready to upgrade to a paid plan, don’t worry, your data is safe. All your existing logins will remain in your vault and will autofill as always. If you want unlimited logins across all your devices, you can seamlessly upgrade to any of our paid plans, including Dashlane Premium and Dashlane Friends & Family. These plans offer a VPN for safeguarding your WiFi connections, real-time phishing alerts, and Dark Web Monitoring.
In addition to this change, on December 7, email and chat support will be available only for paid customers. All Dashlane customers, including those who have the Dashlane Free plan, will continue to have access to our Help Center with a library of self-help resources. You’ll find how-to and troubleshooting articles, along with visuals and videos, to help you use all that Dashlane has to offer.
- Set up an account recovery method so that you don't lose access to your account if you forget your Master Password.
- If you've set up 2-factor authentication (2FA) in Dashlane, confirm that you’ve securely saved your 2FA recovery codes.
We’re committed to providing you with the best possible password management experience. We appreciate your continued support as a valued member of our Dashlane community.

What steps can I take to protect my data?
After December 7, Free customers won't have access to live support, and our Customer Support team can't help you if you can't log in to your account. You can take two steps to protect your account so that you won't lose access:
-
Set up an account recovery method so that you don't lose access to your account if you forget your Master Password.
Set up Dashlane’s account recovery key
Reset your Master Password using biometric recovery on Android or iOS
Reset your Master Password on the Dashlane macOS app - If you've set up 2-factor authentication (2FA) in Dashlane, confirm you’ve securely saved your 2FA recovery codes. When you first turn on 2FA in Dashlane, we ask you to save recovery codes. These codes are helpful if you lose the phone you use with 2FA. Our Customer Support team can’t send Free customers new 2FA recovery codes if you lost or didn’t save the codes.
If you no longer have your 2FA recovery codes, you can turn off 2FA, turn it on again, and securely save the codes when prompted.
2-factor authentication (2FA) in Dashlane
Make sure to save your recovery codes on a device different from the device you use as an authenticator. That way, you'll still have access to your account if you lose your device.

What change will existing Dashlane Free customers see in their vaults as of November 7?
If you’re an existing Dashlane Free customer, none of your vault items will be affected. However, if you try to add new logins after reaching the 25-login limit, you won’t be able to. You’ll also be alerted that you’ve reached the limit across multiple areas, including the vault.
I have more than 25 logins in my vault. Will all my logins remain?
If you’re an existing Dashlane Free customer with more than 25 logins and you didn't upgrade before November 7, you’ll still be able to access and edit all of your logins, and your data will remain safe. However, you can’t add any new logins unless you upgrade or remove logins in your account to get below 25. The Free plan still includes our security features like unlimited secure sharing, passkeys management, and more.
If I have a free Premium trial with more than 25 logins, what happens after November 7?
When your free Premium trial is over, you have two options. You can upgrade to a paid plan with unlimited logins or downgrade to the Free plan with the 25-login limit. If you added more than 25 logins to your vault during your free trial, all your logins will remain securely in your vault.
How do I know how many logins I already have in my Free account?
In the extension, select Logins. In the Item name heading row, you can see how many logins you have. Passkeys aren’t included in that count. You can continue to add as many passkeys as you want.
In the web app, macOS app, and on the iPhone or iPad, you can also check your Password Health page to see how many logins you already have.
You’ll also receive messages in the product:
- If you have 20-24 logins, you’ll see a message stating how many logins you may still add.
- If you have 25 or more logins, you’ll see a message stating that you’ve reached your limit.
Can I continue to edit my logins?
You can continue to edit all of your existing logins in your vault. You can also delete logins if you’ve reached the 25-login limit so that you can add new logins. If you delete logins when you have more than 25, you can’t add more logins if you're still over 25 or re-add the logins you deleted.
I have an account with a paid plan. Why did I receive an email for the Free plan changes?
Rest assured that if you have a paid plan associated with your account, these changes don't affect you.
You likely received this email because you have a different Dashlane account with the Free plan, where the contact email address is the same as your paid account. If you want, you can go ahead and delete the Free account.

More about your login and contact email addresses
Your login email address is the address you use to create your Dashlane account and the address you use to log in to your Dashlane account. After you've created your account, you can't change your login email address because the address is your Dashlane username. You'll always use the same email address to log in to your Dashlane account.
You also have a contact email address. Dashlane automatically uses your login email address as your contact email address, but you can provide a different contact email address.
I’m a Premium for Life customer. How do these changes affect me?
You can continue to use your Premium plan with no changes.
