When someone shares a login, they choose whether their recipients will have Full rights or Limited rights:
- Full rights means the people the login is shared with can see, copy, use, edit, and share the item. The recipients can also edit sharing rights and revoke the sharing rights of others, including the person who originally shared the login.
- Limited rights means the people the login is shared with can use the item but they can't edit, copy, share, or change sharing rights. Recipients also can't see the password. From the login in their vault, recipients can open the website and Dashlane will autofill the shared login information, including the password.
If you need to enter a shared password on a device that doesn't have the Dashlane app installed, you'll need to request full rights for the login. With full rights, you'll be able to see the password. Anyone with full rights for the login can change your permission.
Important: For shared logins with limited rights, a person the login is shared with can’t directly view or edit the login in their vault or in a pop-up. Remember that the dots only hide the password from a casual or accidental observer. A determined, technically savvy recipient can possibly reveal the password. Share logins only with people you trust.
