Logging into your Dashlane account on a new device

Entering your Dashlane ID and password

If Dashlane is not installed yet, download it and install it. Then, launch the application.

The experience you shall see varies slightly depending on the device and browser you installed Dashlane on. For instance, on desktop, you will see one of these two windows:

If it is the first time Dashlane is used on this computer

The welcome screen is displayed.

Click on I already have an account.

If an account already exists on this computer

The login window will be directly displayed.

Click on the triangle icon right next to the field and choose Other account, or delete the content of the Email field.

In both cases, you will now have this window in front of you.

In the Login (email address) field, type in your Dashlane ID, which is the email address you used to first set up Dashlane. Then enter your master password and click on Log in. If you have forgotten your master password, click here.

Security code

After clicking on Log in, Dashlane will require you to authorize your computer, so your account can be used on it.

After clicking on Log in, a security code will automatically be sent to you by e-mail. You should receive this code in less than 30 seconds. For more information on security codes, please click here. Check your email address for an e-mail from Dashlane. The security code will be sent either to the e-mail address you used when creating your account or to your contact e-mail address if you changed it afterwards in the Preferences section of the application.

Enter your security code from the email and name the device so you can easily manage it from the Web application settings.

If the security code you received is invalid, you can request a new one by clicking on the Resend button next to the Security Code field.

Since security codes are unique and only valid for 3 hours, please check carefully the time we sent it to you to know if you need to request a new one. If you get your security code more than 3 hours after requesting it, even after a few tries, you can change your contact e-mail address as shown on this page. Then attempt to log in to your Dashlane account once again to have your security code sent to this new address. If you need further assistance, please contact us and put "security code problem" in the subject line.

If you do not receive any security code, check that Two-Factor Authentication is disabled.

Supplementary security measures

Two-factor authentication

If you so choose, you can activate Two-Factor Authentication in Dashlane’s preferences.

When Two-Factor Authentication is activated, no security codes will be sent to you by email anymore.

Instead, you will be able to get a 6-digit security code from the Google Authenticator app. This code is automatically generated by this application, and changes every 30 seconds. To get that code, you must use Google Authenticator on iOS (iPhone, iPad, iPod), Android or Blackberry.
