Log into your Dashlane account on a new device
Enter your Dashlane ID and password
If Dashlane isn't installed yet, download and install it. If it doesn't open automatically, please open it manually.
The experience you have varies slightly depending on your device and browser. For example, the web app will likely open a page that displays "Welcome to your simpler life online."
The page offers to create an account, but if you already have one, select Log in at the top right of the window.
- In the Email field, enter your Dashlane ID (the email address you used to set up Dashlane) and select Next.
- Enter the verification code we sent you by email. If you set up 2-factor authentication (2FA), enter the 6-digit token from your third-party authenticator app, such as Dashlane Authenticator or Authy.
- Enter your Master Password. Learn more about codes and tokens in the next section.
- Select Log in again.
If you've forgotten your Master Password, visit our Master Password troubleshooting guide.
Verification codes and 2FA tokens
When you first log in to your account on a given device, Dashlane requires you to authorize this new device and sends a verification code by email. Unless you specified a different contact email address in the Preferences section of the app, Dashlane sends the token to the email address you used when creating your account. Check your inbox for an email from Dashlane, which typically arrives within 30 seconds.
If you set up 2FA, use the 6-digit token from your third-party authenticator app, such as Dashlane Authenticator or Authy.
Enter the code or token and then your Master Password to authenticate the device.
To manage the devices authorized to access your Dashlane account:
- Log to the web app.
- In the My account menu, select Settings and then Manage activity.
If the code you received doesn't work, you can request a new one by selecting Resend code.
Because verification codes are unique and valid for only 3 hours, please check the time of day we sent it to you to know whether you need to request a new code. If, after trying multiple times, you continue to get your token more than 3 hours after requesting it, change your contact email address.
If you continue to have trouble logging in because of an issue with the code or token, please visit our interactive guide that walks you through troubleshooting and resolving the issue.
Further security measures
To activate 2FA:
- Log in to the web app.
- In the My account menu, select Settings and then Security settings.
- Turn on 2-factor authentication.
When you turn on 2FA, Dashlane will no longer send you verification codes by email. Instead, your third-party authenticator app, such as Dashlane Authenticator or Authy, provides the 6-digit token. Your authenticator app generates this token automatically every 30 seconds. To get the token, you must have your chosen 2FA authenticator app installed on your mobile device.
