If you ever need to retrieve one of your previous passwords, you can find those passwords in the app's password history. You can find passwords that have been changed in Dashlane, including passwords generated by Dashlane. Even if the password wasn't saved to a login, Dashlane keeps a log of the password.

Tips for searching in Dashlane
View password history in the extension
- Select the Dashlane D icon in your browser’s toolbar and enter your Master Password if prompted. In the extension pop-up, select the Generator tab.
- Select Show history.
- Select Show, shown as an eye icon, to view a password.
You can see whether a password was generated for a specific site—Generated for site—or generated using Dashlane but not saved in the app—Generated. In the extension pop-up, you're limited to the last 20 passwords that were generated in Dashlane.
View password history in the web app
- Select the Dashlane D icon in your browser’s toolbar and enter your Master Password if prompted. Then in the extension pop-up, select Open the web app.
- Select View history in your vault. You can view the saved and unsaved passwords generated by Dashlane.
View password history on Android
- Select Password Generator in the main menu.
- Select the clock with a circling arrow icon to see your generated passwords.
- To view a password, select Show, shown as an eye icon, in the password's row.
You can see whether a password was generated for a specific site—Generated on Android—or generated using Dashlane but not saved in the app—Generated password.
View password history on iOS (Apple)
- Select Generator in the main menu.
- Select the clock with a circling arrow icon to see your previously generated passwords.
- To view an individual password, select the dots that conceal the password.
