Add your password and other login details to Dashlane, making it quick and easy to sign in to all your online accounts.
Dashlane securely saves your logins in one place, giving you access anywhere you go. All your data is encrypted with your Master Password. Only you know your Master Password, so no one—not even Dashlane—can access your information.
And as well as storing all your logins, you can securely store other kinds of data, such as notes, IDs, or credit card information.
Logins
To view your logins:
- Select Logins just after the search bar.
To add a new login:
- Select + Add Login.
- Choose a website from the list of your most visited websites or enter a new one and select Next.
- Fill in the Username, Password, and Website.
- To help you create a strong password, select Generate. Dashlane automatically generates a password for you.
- Add optional information, including an Item name, a Category, and a Note, which can help you find this password more easily.
- Choose whether you want Dashlane to log you in to this website automatically.
- When you're done, select the checkmark at the top right of the screen.
Your login looks like this image when you view it in the Logins section of the app.
To change or add any information, select Edit, shown as a pencil icon.
To see your password, select Show, shown as an eye icon.
To copy your password, select Copy.
To go directly to the site, select Log in.
Secure Notes
Secure Notes is a paid feature. If you currently have a free plan, you'll need to upgrade to one of our paid plans to use this feature.
Do you want to store other logins and data that aren't for websites? You can do this in the Secure Notes section, where you can store:
- Membership cards
- Wifi passwords
- Software licenses
- Legal documents
- Server and FTP information
- Any other kind of data that you want to store safely and have access to wherever you are
Add a Secure Note
- Select Secure Notes just after the search bar.
- Select + Add Secure Note to create a new secure note.
- Add a title to your Secure Note, such as "wifi password," and your note's content.
- At the top of each note, you can choose to attach an image, lock the note with your Master Password, or share the note.
- Below the 3-dot menu, you can assign a color or category to your note or delete the note.
You can also attach images to your notes.

Protect your Secure Note with your Master Password
When you lock a note, you need to enter your Master Password to see the content of this Secure Note, even if you are logged in to the app. This can provide an extra layer of security for your most sensitive notes.
To lock a note:
- Select Lock, shown as a lock icon.
You can also add a category or color to your note so you can easily find it in your list of notes.
Note: You cannot share Secure Notes with attachments.
Personal info
If you add your details to the Personal Info section, Dashlane can autofill this data for you on websites and save you time!
Add your personal info
- Select Personal info just below the search bar.
- Select + Add Personal Info to select the kind of data you want to add:
- Name
- Phone number
- Address
- Company
- Website
To save the item, select the Save icon, shown as a checkmark in the top right corner.
To edit an item, select Edit, shown as a pencil icon, at the top right of the screen.
To delete an item, edit the item and select Delete.
IDs (passport, driver's license, etc.)
You can safely store all your identification data in Dashlane as well. This means that you'll have this information with you at all times, and Dashlane autofills it on sites for you so you won't have to re-type this information over and over.
Add an ID
- Select IDs in the bar just below the search bar.
- Select + Add ID to select the kind of ID you want to add:
- ID card
- Passport
- Driver's license
- Social security number
- Tax number
To save the item, select the Save icon, shown as a checkmark in the top right corner.
To edit an item, click the Edit icon, shown as a pencil, at the top right of the screen.
To delete an item, edit the item and select Delete.
Credit cards and bank accounts
You can safely store your payment info in Dashlane as well. This means that you won't need to enter your payment information manually when buying online. Instead, Dashlane can do it for you.
Add a credit card or bank account
- Select Payments just below the search bar.
- Select + Add Payment to select the kind of info you want to add:
- Credit/Debit Card
- PayPal account
- Bank account
