How to add logins and passwords to Dashlane on Android
Adding passwords for websites
Add your logins and passwords to Dashlane and make it quick and easy to sign in to all your online accounts! Dashlane securely saves your logins in one place, giving you access anywhere you go. All your data is encrypted with your master password, which only you know so no one, not even Dashlane, has access to your information.
There are two ways to add your logins to your Dashlane account:
- Manually add a login
- Adding a login automatically in the browser
Manually add a login
When you open the Passwords section of your Android app, this is what you will see.
Tap on the green button (+) at the bottom right to add a new login. Then, choose a website from the list of your most visited websites or enter a new website and click Next.
Here, you can add the information for your login. This example is for Twitter. You need to add the URL, Login and Password but there are also some optional pieces of information that you can add, including a Name that will allow you to find this password more easily, a Category and whether you want Dashlane to automatically log you in or not with the Autologin option. Finally, you can add a Note for the login.
When you are done, tap on the V at the top right of the screen.
This is what your login will look like when you see it in the Passwords section of the app. You can change or add any information by tapping on the pencil at the top right of the screen. Tap the eye icon to show your password or on the "COPY" button to copy your password. You can also go directly to the site by tapping on the "LOG IN" button
Adding a login automatically in the browser
Instead of manually adding your login, you can let Dashlane do this for you automatically. Simply log in to your account on your website from the Dashlane browser and Dashlane will automatically offer you to save your login.
The first step is to open the Dashlane browser and to go to your site to log in like you would normally do. You will see the Dashlane impala logo in the login fields. Blue means that Dashlane already has information that it can use in this this field (tap in the field to see your info) and gray means that Dashlane doesn't have your info yet but is ready to save it after you type it in.
After you log in to your site, you will see a Dashlane pop-up asking you if you want to save this login to your account. Here, you can change the login name if you want to and add a Category to this login. Tap on the Save button at the bottom right to save this login to your Dashlane account.
You will then be able to see these login and password in the passwords menu.
