How to use the Dashlane browser for Android

Do you want to navigate the web and have Dashlane autofill all your info and automatically log you in to all your sites? The Dashlane browser can do all that for you.

Getting set up with the Dashlane browser

To use the Dashlane browser, go to Browser within your Dashlane menu. You’ll be taken through some simple steps that show you how to get the most out of the browser.

When you launch this process, a shortcut for the Dashlane browser will be created on your phone so that you can use it at any time (find it in your application menu).

However, to get the full benefit of Dashlane when using the Internet on your phone, make Dashlane your default browser.

You can do this from your Dashlane settings. Just switch the Default Browser setting to “On”.

How to go to sites and log in automatically

Open the application and tap on Browser. You will land on Google, as this is the default homepage.

Here, you can either search for something in the Google search bar or you can put the URL for your site in the browser's address bar. To do this, tap on the address bar at the top of the screen.

If you have a login already saved for this site, then this will appear just under the address bar.

Tap on this to go straight to your site. If you don't see this, you can type in the whole URL for your site and tap on Go at the bottom right of the keyboard.

Then you will get to your site. If your information isn't already filled out in the login fields, tap in one of the fields to show your login information. The blue impalas in the login fields mean that Dashlane already has your data stored and is ready to log you in.

After you tap in one of the login fields, you will see a pop-up with your login.

Tap on this and Dashlane will log you in to the site.

To find out how to add these kinds of details to your Dashlane account, please refer to this guide.

If you want to use a different login, you can tap on the Abc button to get the keyboard so that you can type in your login details.

How to auto-fill forms online

You can automatically fill in forms with Dashlane, meaning that you won't need to type in all your details ever again! When you go to sign up for something, you will have to fill out a registration form with all your info. Look for the blue impalas in the fields - this means that Dashlane has your info and can fill out the form for you. Tap in one of the fields and you will see a window at the bottom of the screen.

After you have tapped in one of the fields, you will see your data that Dashlane has recognized for this field. Tap on your Dashlane info in this window.

After you select your info from the window, Dashlane will automatically fill in all the fields in the form with the details you have already saved in the application.

To find out how to add these kinds of details to your Dashlane account, please refer to this guide.

How to generate a strong password for a login

When you sign up for something online, then you normally need to choose a password. You can use Dashlane to generate a strong password that you can then store in Dashlane so that you don't even need to remember it! When you're on a registration page, tap in the Password field.

After you tap in the Password field, you will see a Dashlane window at the bottom of the screen.

Tap on the green Generate strong password button to get a strong password for this site. Tap on the Abc button if you prefer using the keyboard to type in your own password.

After you tap on the Generate strong password button, Dashlane will fill in the Password field as well as the Repeat password field with this strong password. When you click to sign up to the site, you will be able to save this login to Dashlane so that you can log in to this site in the future.

After you've saved it to Dashlane, you can see or edit this login in the Passwords section of the application.

How to auto-fill my credit card for online purchases

When you are shopping online, you can use Dashlane to fill in your credit card or other payment info in the checkout fields. For example, on Amazon you need to put in your credit card details to complete a purchase. When you see a field where you need to put in your credit card, tap in this field.

When you tap in a field that's asking for your credit card, Dashlane will show a window with your payment info that you have already saved in your Dashlane account. Tap on this info to use it on the site.

After you select your payment info from the window at the bottom of the screen, Dashlane will automatically fill out all your payment details.

Important: Dashlane doesn't work in any other browsers on your Android device yet. You will need to use the Dashlane browser to use Dashlane’s complete functionality, including auto-logging you in with your secure passwords and auto-filling in forms for you online.
