Editing your logins and passwords on the web app
To open the web app, click on the extension icon in your browser, select the three-dot icon in the upper right corner of the extension window, and select Open the app, or else click here.
Click once on a credential to open it. There, click into and modify any field.
The following fields are available to edit:
- Email
The email field is often used as your login, though some websites use a separate login. - Login
For websites using a login, this is your "username", used to log you in to your account. - Password
The secret string of characters used to authenticate your access. - Website
The address for the website that corresponds to this credential. - Name
The name for this credential in your Passwords list. - Category
The category under which your credential will be stored. - Space
This is for business users, and allows you to separate your work and personal data. See this article for more information about Spaces. - Note
For any information you wish to include with this credential.
In this same window, you will have three more options available by clicking on More options:
- Always log me in to this website – This enables auto-login for this credential. When enabled, Dashlane will automatically log you in when you visit this website.
- Always require Master Password – This setting will require you to enter your Master Password each time you wish to use this credential.
- For this subdomain only – Only credentials with this option selected will be proposed by Dashlane for this subdomain.
You can also click on the Share button at the bottom of the window to share this credential with someone else.

Editing your logins and passwords in the desktop apps
To access your list of credentials in Dashlane, open the application and click on the Passwords category, which can be found on the left side panel.
Double click on a credential to open and edit it.
Otherwise, when you hover over the credential you want to edit, you will see two buttons on the icon for the actions available. From top to bottom:
- The menu icon will allow you to take further actions such as edit this credential, share it, copy the password, etc. See the following image to see the full contents of this menu.
- The icon to go to the website. The page will open in your browser.
