You can change your Dashlane plan. You can also view and update your billing information and change how often you're billed. This article explains how to make changes to your plan and billing settings.
Important: Depending on your situation, you can manage your subscription and billing on our website, in our app, or in the Google Play or Apple app stores. But billing problems can happen when you buy a subscription in one place and later try to change your plan or billing period elsewhere.

Your options for changing plans depend on what plan you currently have. You can check what plan you have in the web app. In the My account menu, select Settings and then Subscription to see your current plan.

Upgrade your plan
You can upgrade your plan at any time. When you upgrade, you keep any data you've saved in your Dashlane account. You may also get a discount or a partial refund, depending on where you bought your current plan and where you plan to upgrade.

Cancel your current plan. You'll keep any data you've already saved in Dashlane. Then sign up for the plan you want. When signing up, use the same email address you used for your current plan. That way, you may receive a discount on your new plan.

When you upgrade on the Dashlane website before your current billing period ends, you can get a discount on your new plan. This discount is prorated, which means the amount depends on how much time you have left in your current billing period.
Example of a discount when you upgrade on our website:
You have a yearly subscription to Dashlane Premium that you bought for $60. You have four months left before your renewal date, and you buy a yearly Friends & Family plan. We give you a discount of $20—the cost of your remaining four months of Premium at $5 per month.
Upgrade your plan from Google Play
Go to the Dashlane Android app and select Upgrade in the side menu. Choose the plan you want, and you'll check out through the Google Play Store.
Important: You can only get a refund in Google Play if you bought your current plan in the same app store. If you bought your plan on the Dashlane website, upgrade on the website to get a discount on your new plan.
Get a partial refund on your current plan
If you bought your current plan in the Google Play Store, you can upgrade before your renewal date and get a refund on your current plan. When you upgrade in Google Play, you'll receive an automatic refund for the remaining time in your billing period.
Example of a refund when you upgrade in Google Play:
You have a yearly subscription to Dashlane Premium that you bought for $60. You have four months left before your renewal date, and you buy a yearly Friends & Family plan. We give you a $20 refund for the remaining time of your Premium plan.
Upgrade your plan from the Apple App Store
Go to the Dashlane iOS (Apple) app and select See plan options in the Settings menu. Choose the plan you want, and you'll check out through the Apple App Store.
Important: You can only get a refund in Apple App Store if you bought your current plan in the same app store. If you bought your plan on the Dashlane website, upgrade on the website to get a discount on your new plan.

If you bought your current plan in the Apple App Store, you can upgrade before your renewal date and get a refund on your current plan. When you upgrade in the App Store, you'll receive an automatic refund for the remaining time in your billing period.

You have a yearly subscription to Dashlane Premium that you bought for $60. You have four months left before your renewal date, and you buy a yearly Friends & Family plan. We give you a $20 refund for the remaining time of your Premium plan.

You can downgrade your plan when your current subscription ends.
To downgrade, cancel your current plan. You'll keep the benefits of this plan until the end of your billing period. You'll also keep any data you've already saved in Dashlane. When your current plan ends, sign up for the plan you want.

You can cancel your Dashlane subscription at any time. When you cancel your subscription, you keep your plan until your current billing period ends. Afterward, you have Dashlane Free and keep any data you've saved in your Dashlane account. If you no longer want Dashlane Free, you can delete your account.

- From the My account menu, select Subscription.
- Select cancel your subscription.
- On the next page, select Cancel subscription.

Renew your plan
In most cases, Dashlane subscriptions renew automatically.
If you bought your subscription on our website and the card you used expires, we won't renew your subscription automatically. We send you an email to let you know. You need to buy a new subscription from our website.
When you cancel your subscription, you can use your current Dashlane plan until the end of your billing period. But your subscription doesn't renew.

How you view and update billing information depends on where you bought your Dashlane plan. Select where you bought your plan.

If you paid for Dashlane on our website with a credit card, you can view and update billing info in the web app.
- From the My account menu, select Subscription. You'll see the payment method you used to buy your subscription.
- To edit billing info, select Update payment.
- Make your changes and select Save.

Where you find receipts, invoices, and payment history depends on where you bought your Dashlane plan. Select where you bought your plan.

- Go to the My account menu in the web app and select Subscription.
- In the Billing history section, select View receipts.
- Select the download icon, shown as an arrow and a box, to download a receipt. You can also add billing information to the receipt before downloading when you select Add details. Then select Save and download.

You can pay for your Dashlane subscription once a month or once a year. The process for changing how often you're billed depends on where you paid for Dashlane.

Common questions
How do I use a promotional code?
You might have a promotional code from a Dashlane marketing campaign or if you bought a subscription from one of our partners. Follow these steps to use the code:
- Go to our plan page and select Purchase now for the plan you want to buy.
Visit our plan page - If you already have a Dashlane account, enter the email address you use to log in to your account. If you don't have Dashlane, you can create an account on this plan page.
- Enter your payment details.
- In the Order Summary section, select Enter a promo code. Then enter your code and select Apply.
- Select Complete my purchase.
If you created your Dashlane login during this process, you need to download Dashlane and create an account.

How do I get a 30-day refund?
We offer a full refund within 30 days if you aren't satisfied with your plan. The refund process depends on where you paid for Dashlane.
Where did you buy your Dashlane plan?
Get a refund for a plan you bought on the Dashlane website
If you bought your subscription on our website with a credit card, you can request a refund directly in the web app when you cancel your plan. You need to request your refund within 30 days of buying your plan.
Note: If you bought your subscription on our website with PayPal, you need to contact us for your refund. Send your request using your Dashlane login email address to support@dashlane.com. If possible, send the invoice number on your Paypal receipt as well.
- Go to the My account menu in the web app and select Subscription.
- Select Cancel your subscription.
- We'll ask why you're canceling. Select a reason and then select Cancel subscription.
- Select request a refund.
We'll refund your credit card within three to five business days.
Important: If you already canceled your plan and can't find the page where you select request a refund, send your request using your Dashlane login email address to support@dashlane.com.
Get a refund for a plan you bought in Google Play
If you bought Dashlane from the Google Play Store, contact us for your refund. You need to request your refund within 30 days of buying your plan.
Send your request using your Dashlane login email address to support@dashlane.com. If possible, provide these details:
- The email address you use to log in to Dashlane
- The login of the Google account you use to access Google Play on your Android device
- The transaction ID from when you bought your Dashlane plan
Your transaction ID looks like this example: GPA.1234-4567-8901-23456. You can find your transaction ID on the Google receipt. You can find the Google receipt in your email or the Google Play Store.
Get a refund for a plan you bought in the Apple App Store
If you bought Dashlane from the Apple App Store, you need to cancel your subscription with Apple. Then contact Apple directly for your refund. You need to request your refund within 30 days of buying your plan.
I paid for Dashlane but can't see my subscription in the app. What do I do?
You can usually solve this problem by logging out of Dashlane and back in again. To see instructions, select the app you're using.
Log out and back in again on the web app
- Select My account and Log out.
- Log back in with the Dashlane extension.
Important: Make sure to log in with the same email address you used to buy your subscription.
- Select the My account menu to see the email address you used to log in and the name of your plan—Free, Advanced, Premium, or Friends & Family.

- In the Settings section, select the Security tab and then select Log out.
- Log back in again.
Important: Make sure to log in with the same email address you used to buy your subscription.
- Select the 3-line icon to open the side menu and see the email address you used to log in and the name of your plan—Free, Advanced, Premium, or Friends & Family.

- In the Settings section, select the Security tab and then select Log out.
- Log back in again.
Important: Make sure to log in with the same email address you used to buy your subscription.
- Select Settings to see the email address you used to log in and the name of your plan—Free, Advanced, Premium, or Friends & Family.
If you don't see the name of the plan you paid for, you can contact our Customer Support team. You can help us solve the problem by giving us specific info depending on where you paid for Dashlane.
Select where you paid for Dashlane, and include as much of this information as possible when you contact us.
Send us a screenshot of the invoice you received after buying your subscription. Make sure all details of the invoice are visible.
If you paid with a credit card: Give us the last four digits of the credit card you used, the expiration date, and the full name on the card. Tell us the date you bought your plan and how much you paid.
If you paid with PayPal: Give us the transaction number on your PayPal receipt.
Send us a screenshot of the Google receipt for your Dashlane subscription. Make sure all details of the receipt are visible. You can find the Google receipt in your email or the Google Play Store.
If possible, provide these details as well:
- The email address you use to log in to Dashlane
- The login of the Google account you use to access Google Play on your Android device

Why was I charged twice for Dashlane?
In certain situations, like downgrading your plan and changing how you pay for Dashlane, we ask you to cancel your current plan and buy a new one. But when you cancel your Dashlane subscription, you keep your current plan until the end of the billing period.
To avoid paying for two plans at once, we recommend waiting until the end of your billing period before you do these things:
- Downgrade your plan
- Change how often you pay for Dashlane
- Change where you pay for Dashlane—our website, the Google Play Store, or the Apple App Store
You can upgrade your plan before your subscription ends. But make sure you buy your new plan on our website or in the same app store where you bought your old plan.
