You can change your Dashlane subscription. You can also view and update your billing information and change how often you're billed. This article explains how to make changes to your subscription and billing settings.
Important: Depending on your situation, you can manage your subscription and billing on our website, in our app, or in the Google Play or Apple app stores. But billing problems can happen when you buy a subscription in one place and later try to change your plan or billing period elsewhere.

Your options for changing your subscription depend on what plan you currently have. You can check what plan you have in the web app. In the My account menu, select Settings and then Subscription to see your current plan.

Upgrade your subscription
You can upgrade your subscription at any time. When you upgrade, you keep any data you've saved in your Dashlane account. You may also get a discount or a partial refund, depending on where you bought your current subscription and where you plan to upgrade.

Cancel your current subscription. You'll keep any data you've already saved in Dashlane. Then sign up for the Dashlane plan you want. When signing up, use the same email address you used for your current subscription. That way, you may receive a discount on your new subscription.

When you upgrade on the Dashlane website before your current billing period ends, you can get a discount on your new subscription. This discount is prorated, which means the amount depends on how much time you have left in your current billing period.
Example of a discount when you upgrade on our website:
You have a yearly subscription to Dashlane Premium that you bought for $60. You have four months left before your renewal date, and you buy a yearly Friends & Family subscription. We give you a discount of $20—the cost of your remaining four months of Premium at $5 per month.
Upgrade your subscription in Google Play
Go to the Dashlane Android app and select Upgrade in the side menu. Choose the plan you want, and you'll check out through the Google Play Store.
Important: You can only get a refund in Google Play if you bought your current subscription in the same app store. If you bought your subscription on the Dashlane website, upgrade on the website to get a discount on your new subscription.
Get a partial refund on your current subscription
If you bought your current subscription in the Google Play Store, you can upgrade before your renewal date and get a refund on your current subscription. When you upgrade in Google Play, you'll receive an automatic refund for the remaining time in your billing period.
Example of a refund when you upgrade in Google Play:
You have a yearly subscription to Dashlane Premium that you bought for $60. You have four months left before your renewal date, and you buy a yearly Friends & Family subscription. We give you a $20 refund for the remaining time of your Premium subscription.
Upgrade your subscription from the Apple App Store
Go to the Dashlane iOS (Apple) app and select See plan options in the Settings menu. Choose the plan you want, and you'll check out through the Apple App Store.
Important: You can only get a refund in Apple App Store if you bought your current subscription in the same app store. If you bought your subscription on the Dashlane website, upgrade on the website to get a discount on your new subscription.
Get a partial refund on your current subscription
If you bought your current subscription in the Apple App Store, you can upgrade before your renewal date and get a refund on your current subscription. When you upgrade in the App Store, you'll receive an automatic refund for the remaining time in your billing period.

You have a yearly subscription to Dashlane Premium that you bought for $60. You have four months left before your renewal date, and you buy a yearly Friends & Family subscription. We give you a $20 refund for the remaining time of your Premium subscription.
Downgrade your subscription
You can downgrade your subscription when your current subscription ends.
To downgrade, cancel your current subscription. You'll keep the benefits of this subscription until the end of your billing period. You'll also keep any data you've already saved in Dashlane. When your current subscription ends, sign up for the plan you want.

Important: To avoid paying for two subscriptions at once, wait until the end of your current billing period before buying a new subscription.
Cancel your subscription
You can cancel your Dashlane subscription at any time. When you cancel your subscription, you keep your subscription until your current billing period ends, but the automatic renewal of your account turns off. Afterward, you have Dashlane Free and keep any data you've saved in your Dashlane account. If you no longer want Dashlane Free, you can delete your account.
Note: Free trials cancel automatically at the end of the trial period. You'll have Dashlane Free unless you buy a subscription to another Dashlane plan. You don't lose any data saved in Dashlane when the trial ends.
How you cancel your subscription depends on where you paid for Dashlane.

You can cancel your subscription in the web app if you paid for Dashlane on our website with a credit card.
- From the My account menu, select Subscription.
- Select cancel your subscription.
- On the next page, select Cancel subscription.
Note: If you didn't buy your subscription on our website with a credit card, you won't see the cancel your subscription button in the web app. You must cancel your subscription directly with PayPal, Google Play, or Apple, depending on where you paid for Dashlane.

Renew your subscription
In most cases, Dashlane subscriptions renew automatically.
If you bought your subscription on our website and the card you used expires, we won't renew your subscription automatically. We send you an email to let you know. You need to buy a new subscription from our website.
When you cancel, you keep your current subscription until the end of your billing period. But your subscription doesn't renew.
Note: Dashlane plans sold to customers in the EU and UK may be subject to Value-Added Tax, known as VAT. Any VAT charged to you is included on your receipt. If your billing address is in the United States, you may be subject to state and local sales taxes. Your tax rate is determined based on your ZIP code and displayed on the checkout page when you buy a plan.

If you paid for Dashlane on our website with a credit card, you can view and update billing info in the web app.
- From the My account menu, select Subscription. You'll see the payment method you used to buy your subscription.
- To edit billing info, select Update payment.
- Make your changes and select Save.

Where you find receipts and payment history depends on where you bought your Dashlane subscription.

- Go to the My account menu in the web app and select Subscription.
- In the Billing history section, select View receipts.
- Select the download icon, shown as an arrow and a box, to download a receipt. You can also add billing information to the receipt before downloading when you select Add details. Then select Save and download.

You can pay for your Dashlane subscription once a month or once a year depending on where you buy your plan. The process for changing how often you're billed depends on where you paid for Dashlane.

You can change how often you're billed when your current subscription ends. If you're currently being billed monthly, you can change your billing period to yearly on our website. If you're currently being billed yearly and want to change to monthly, make the change in your mobile app.
To change how often you're billed, cancel your current subscription. You'll keep the benefits of this subscription until the end of your billing period. You'll also keep any data you've already saved in Dashlane. When your current subscription ends, sign up for the Dashlane plan and billing period you want.
