Understand your Password Health score
Your Password Health score is calculated based on all your passwords stored in Dashlane and whether they're Compromised, Reused, or Weak. In calculating the score, we give more weight to more important accounts, like banking and email. Select each tab to filter, or select All to view them all in one list. You need at least five logins to have a Password Health score.
Compromised: A password for a website that had a security breach. Or, a password that is the same, or similar to, a password for a website that had a security breach.
Reused: A password that’s the same or similar to your other passwords. If one of your passwords is stolen, hackers may be able to break into your other accounts that have the same, or even a similar, password.
Weak: A password that’s vulnerable because it uses common words, names, keyboard patterns, dates, and so on.
Exclude passwords from your score
You can exclude passwords you don’t want to be included in your Password Health score. You might exclude a password for these reasons:
- Someone shared the password with you, so you can’t change it
- The password’s website doesn’t allow for a more secure password
- You’re required to reuse the password, such as with Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk
To exclude a password, hover over the password you want to exclude and select the Exclude icon, shown as a circle with a line through it.
To see a list of your excluded passwords, select the Excluded tab. To remove a password from the excluded list, hover over the password and select the include icon, shown as a circular arrow.
Improve your Password Health score
To get a 100 on your Password Health score and secure your accounts, update all your passwords marked on your Password Health page as Compromised, Reused, or Weak to more secure, unique passwords. Go to each website, and use Dashlane’s Password Generator to replace each password with a new password. The Dashlane extension pop-up automatically prompts you to Replace the old passwords you stored in Dashlane.
