This article walks you through what to expect when you're removed from a Dashlane Team or a Dashlane Business plan.
Leaving a Dashlane Team plan
After the admin revokes your access, you will be notified in-app that you have been removed from the Team plan and will receive an e-mail from Dashlane informing you that you have been offboarded.
If your admin enabled the Removing company items for revoked users feature, items that were forced to your business space and contained the company domain will be removed from your account.
Any passwords that you shared with groups with full rights will remain accessible to those groups, but any passwords shared with limited rights will be removed.
Any passwords in your personal space will remain saved and available in your account.
The "Space" label can be found to the right of passwords viewed in the extension window in your browser, so note that passwords saved in the company space will have the company space icon indicated as in the example below. Remember that a password's category is unrelated to its space.
On the web app, you can also switch spaces to show either only the personal space, only the business space, or show all spaces.
You will have access to Dashlane Premium features for the next 40 days, which includes features like the ability to access your data on multiple devices at the same time, storing unlimited passwords, or Dark Web Monitoring. For more information on Dashlane Premium and all the features it offers, you can have a look at this article: Making the most of Dashlane Premium.
If you choose not to upgrade to Dashlane Premium before the 40-day free trial ends, the ability to access your data on multiple devices at the same time will be disabled and new passwords will not be able to be saved above a 50-password limit. At any time, you can export your passwords into several formats, for more detailed information on how to go about doing so you can have a look at our dedicated article: Exporting and importing passwords.
The email used to create your account login cannot be changed. However, you can update your contact e-mail address to be sure to receive security codes or other important communication from Dashlane. Alternatively, you can export your passwords and import them into a new Dashlane account that you create with your personal e-mail. For a more detailed walk-through, see here.
Leaving a Dashlane Business plan
If single sign-on (SSO) was not enabled on your Dashlane Business plan, you can refer to the information in the section above, as the experience will be the same as when leaving a Dashlane Team plan. However, if you are being revoked from a Dashlane Business plan with active SSO, the experience will be different.
Since you created your Dashlane account using your company's SSO credentials, you do not have a Master Password. As a result, if you no longer have access to your company's SSO, you will no longer be able to log in to Dashlane. This means that you will lose access to the information that you stored there, including your personal credentials. As Dashlane has no control over your company's policies, we therefore recommend you get in touch with your IT administrator who should warn you before removing you from the plan.
If you have been notified by your admin that your account will be disabled soon, you can export a secure backup of the data saved in your personal space (currently available only from an Android device) that you'll be able to restore later to a new Dashlane account. Remember that items that were forced to your business space and contained the company domain will not be exported from your account and cannot be recovered once you are revoked from the plan.
