Scam Protection includes AI-Powered alerts, which are part of a comprehensive approach to credential security that we've embedded in Dashlane Premium and Friends & Family plans. Scam Protection alerts are on by default.
Your Dashlane vault always keeps your passwords secure, and Scam Protection takes it a step further by proactively protecting you against threats in your desktop browser.
Note: If you’re part of an organization using Credential Protection, you might see AI Phishing Alerts when your admin sets them up. Please note that Credential Protection AI Phishing Alerts work differently from Scam Protection for personal plans.

How does Scam Protection work?
Dashlane uses AI to scan websites in real time, alerting you if anything appears suspicious or risky in your desktop browser. This extra protection layer safeguards you everywhere you use the internet. Our AI model is trained to detect malicious websites and alert you the moment you land on one.
Our AI model uses 79 page indicators—links, images, and more—to conduct an in-depth analysis of potential phishing risk. We alert you before you enter your credentials on suspicious sites.
If you have Dashlane Premium or Friends & Family plans, you'll get Scam Protection alerts as long as you're logged in to the Dashlane browser extension.
Install the Dashlane extension
You'll see a pop-up with the URL of the site you’re visiting. If you don’t trust the site, you can select Leave website to exit the page. If you're certain the site is legitimate, you can select Trust website.
If you select Leave website, the alert will show again if you return to the site.
If you select Trust website, the alert will no longer appear for that site.

Common questions about Scam Protection
Does Scam Protection work for any website?
The Scam Protection alerts are only shown on websites that you don’t have saved in your Dashlane vault. To protect the credentials saved in your account, we have Vault phishing alerts.
If Dashlane detects that you’re trying to autofill or copy and paste a website's login information on a website or app that isn't the same one you have saved, we show you a Vault phishing alert.
Can I turn off Scam Protection?
Scam Protection is on by default. If you wish, you can turn the alerts on and off in the web app by selecting the Vault menu in the top left of the app, Settings, and Security settings.
In which browsers and devices will I see the Scam Protection alerts?
The Scam Protection alerts are available on desktop devices with Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or any Chromium browser. At this time, Scam Protection alerts aren’t available on desktop Safari or mobile devices.
Why am I seeing an alert for a trusted website?
Given our zero-knowledge architecture, we don't access users’ data to train our AI model. If you receive a Scam Protection alert on a trusted website, you can select to trust the website on the alert. You won't see any more alerts for that website. Please also report this trusted website to our Support team. We can investigate the website to enhance our AI model's capabilities.
You can contact the Support team by selecting Chat with bot in the bottom right of this page.
If you own a website that is being wrongly flagged as phishing by Dashlane, please report it to our Support team.
Is my data secure when Dashlane’s AI scans the websites I visit?
Yes. The AI detection is happening locally on your device, so Dashlane doesn’t have access to the websites you visit. Our zero-knowledge architecture ensures that no one, not even Dashlane, can access anyone's data.
