For security reasons, some websites have an extra step called “user verification” when you save or log in with a passkey. User verification means the website is asking for extra proof that the person logging in is who they say they are.
Use passkeys in Dashlane
Learn about passkeys
The user verification process depends on what type of account you have and your settings.
| Account type and settings | What do we ask for during user verification? |
| Master Password | Your Master Password |
| Master Password with biometric unlock or PIN unlock turned on | Your PIN, face, or fingerprint |
| Passwordless | Your PIN or security key |
| Single sign-on (SSO) |
You can't currently use passkeys saved in Dashlane for sites that require user verification. This capability will come at a later date. You can still create and use passkeys for websites or services that don’t require an extra user verification step. |
I don't want to enter my Master Password every time I use a passkey
You don’t need to enter your Master Password every time you use a passkey. To make the process faster and still secure, turn on biometric unlock or PIN unlock. Then you can use your face, fingerprint, or device PIN instead of your Master Password when verifying your identity.
