Free users are allowed 50 passwords. How does this limit affect you? Once you have reached 50 or more passwords, you cannot add a new one. But keep in mind:
- You keep your existing passwords. If you have more than 50 passwords on a device when your Free Premium trial period ends, you keep your existing passwords but cannot add new ones.
- You can update your existing passwords. For example, if Dashlane sends you a security breach alert recommending that you immediately change your password on that account, you can do so, of course. You can always update your existing passwords.
Depending on your platform, we'll let you know when you're approaching or have reached your limit when you create a new password.
Note: If you try to create a new password and have already reached your limit, you cannot save it to your device. Even if you plan to upgrade to one of our paid plans right away, click Show and note the password you just created.
If you have more than 50 passwords to manage or use multiple devices, we encourage you to use Dashlane's full potential to make your online life easier while improving your security. Depending on the features you need and the number of devices you use, Dashlane has a plan to make your life online easy and secure. And to best match your budget, you can choose between a monthly or annual subscription. Find out which Dashlane plan is best for you.
