With Dashlane's Friends & Family plan, you and nine members of your close circle can share a Dashlane subscription.
All members enjoy the benefits of our Premium plan. But each person's account is independent, which means your data remains private. You only share logins and personal information with other members of your Friends & Family plan if you choose to.
This article can get you started if you want to help your family and friends manage their online security with simplicity and peace of mind.
Sign up for a Friends & Family plan
You can sign up for a Friends & Family plan on our website. Or you can start by downloading the Dashlane app on your mobile device. Then sign up directly in the app. In either case, you can choose between a monthly and an annual subscription.
After you subscribe, your account has all our Premium features.
You can invite nine other people to join the plan. An invitation page opens after you sign up. Share the link with the people you want to invite. You can also find the invitation link in your Friends & Family Dashboard anytime.
If you have a Dashlane plan already, you can change or upgrade to the Friends & Family plan.
Join an existing Friends & Family plan
To join a Friends & Family plan, follow the invitation link you received.
If you already have a Dashlane account, add yourself to the plan using the same email address you use to log in to Dashlane. If you're new to Dashlane, add the email you want to use and create your Dashlane account.
We'll pause your current plan if you already have a Dashlane subscription. If the Friends & Family subscription ends, your previous subscription begins again. Your data stays in your account even if you leave the Friends & Family plan.
Manage your Friends & Family plan
As a plan admin, you can manage your plan's features and members on your Friends & Family Dashboard. Other members of your plan don't have access to the Dashboard.
Use your Friends & Family Dashboard
To access your Friends & Family Dashboard in the web app, select My account, then Settings, and then Family Dashboard.
In the Dashboard, you can manage your plan in these ways:
- See your current members
- Manage your plan settings
- Copy the invitation link to invite new members
- Remove members from your plan
Add and remove members from your Friends & Family plan
Any member can invite new members using the invitation link. You can also reset this link in the plan Settings menu. When you reset the invitation link, the previous link no longer works. Reset the link if you've removed a member or sent the link to someone by mistake.
To add a member to your plan, send them the invitation link. They need to follow the link to join. They also need to create a Dashlane account if they don't have one.
Follow these steps to remove a member from your plan:
- Select the X next to the person's email address in the Friends & Family Dashboard. A confirmation pop-up opens.
- Select Remove. The member receives an email saying they're no longer part of this plan. We recommend also selecting the Reset invitation link checkbox.
Data and privacy with Friends & Family
When you have a Friends & Family plan, your data remains private. The other members of your plan can only see logins and other data that you choose to share with them.
Sharing with a member of your Friends & Family plan is the same as sharing with any other Dashlane customer.
