The Dashlane web app delivers an updated and improved Dashlane experience, allowing you to autofill and manage your passwords directly within your browser.
Dashlane for Safari is completely independent of the Dashlane desktop app. If you already used Dashlane in Safari, what's different? Everything and nothing—it's still the Dashlane you know and love, but updated and improved.
See this page for general information about how to use Dashlane in your browser, but please note that our Dashlane for Safari app is currently in Beta testing, meaning that it might not work exactly as the extensions available on other browsers.
Also, as mentioned in our Minimum requirements, please note that Dashlane for Safari requires running macOS 10.14 or above.
Below, find out how to install Dashlane for Safari, and about the features specific to our Safari app.

Installing Dashlane for Safari
To install the extension, either click here or follow these steps:
- Open the App Store on your Mac
- Search for "Dashlane for Safari"
- Click on GET and then INSTALL to install the application
- Open Dashlane for Safari
- Click on Open Preferences to enable Dashlane
- The Extensions tab within Safari will open, and from there you should enable the extension by ticking the box next to it. Please note: If you have the old extension enabled you must disable it in order to use the new one.
Also, we strongly recommend that you disable Keychain. Having both autofill methods enabled will give you a confusing and less-effective user experience.
And you're all set!
New features
Dashlane for Safari gives you all the features you previously used in Safari, plus much more:

If you haven't already created your account, you can do so directly within the extension.

This feature can be enabled on the Extension preferences menu, by ticking the option Use Touch ID.
Note that when you enable Use Touch ID, the option to remember your Master Password for 14 days will be disabled.
Unlock Dashlane with your Apple Watch

Easier password copy-paste feature
When accessing your Vault you will be able to access your credentials and access the Copy feature which comes with an integrated drop-down menu, which allows you to copy the Email and Password fields.
History on Password Generator
The new, more advanced Password Generator tab allows you to see the history of the passwords generated by it on a timeline. You can do this by clicking on Show history.
To reveal the passwords themselves, hover the mouse over it and click on Show, which will unveil the generated password. You can also show multiple passwords at the same time.
Dark mode
