The Dashlane web app and extension allow you to autofill your passwords and manage your data.
You can access Dashlane directly in the browser extension and then open the full web app for more features.
The web app is available on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Chromium-based browsers, such as Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi. If you're using Dashlane in Safari, learn more about using Dashlane in Safari.

Manage your passwords
The Vault tab in the extension allows you to do the following:
- Browse or search your logins using the search bar. Dashlane will suggest relevant passwords.
- Sort your logins by name or "Last used" to show the most recently used logins first. To choose a different sorting method, select the current method and choose the new one.
- View login details by selecting the login to open the login details view.
- Edit logins by selecting the pencil icon in the login details view. This takes you to the web app.
- Show passwords by selecting the eye icon in the login details view.
- Access the website for a specific login by hovering over the item and selecting the Go to website icon. You can also select the same icon in the login details view.
- Copy passwords or logins by hovering over the item and selecting the Copy info icon. You can also select the copy icon that appears when hovering over the item in the login details view.
The Autofill tab in the extension allows you to do the following:
- Control the autofill settings for the website/webpage you're viewing.
- Select the This entire website tab to autofill Everything, autofill Only logins and passwords, or Don't autofill on this website.
- On the This page only tab, you can control the autofill settings for the webpage you are currently viewing.
- You can also view how many form fields you have turned off in a particular webpage/website and choose to revert them in the Did you know section.
- Open the web app by selecting the Open the web app button.
- Add a new login manually by selecting the plus (+) button.
- Access our Help Center by selecting the question mark button.
- Sync your logins manually across your apps by selecting the circular icon.
The Generator tab in the extension allows you to do the following:
- Generate passwords and change them according to your preference.
- See the history of the passwords generated by Dashlane for different websites.
- Copy the passwords generated.
- Set the length of the password you want to generate and toggle between 4 and 40 characters.
- Set the rules for the password to be generated. You can choose the characteristics of generated passwords and save them as your default.
- Open the web app by selecting the Open the web app button.
- Add a new login manually by selecting the plus (+) button.
- Access our Help Center by selecting the question mark button.
To access the password history, select Show history. You'll see whether a password was generated for a specific site or Generated using Dashlane but not saved in the app. You're limited to the last 20 passwords generated. You can also view or copy a password using the icons next to the generated item.
With some slight differences and a few additional actions, you can perform all the actions in the Passwords section in the web app that you can perform from the Vault tab in the extension. Learn how to access the web app.
In the web app, you can:
- Manually add logins by selecting Add new.
- Share logins. Learn more about sharing logins.
- View the passwords generated by Dashlane by selecting View history.
As in the browser extension, you can:
- Browse or search your logins using the search bar.
- Sort your passwords by name, "Last used," or category when selecting the corresponding column headers.
- View and edit logins by selecting the item to open the login details view.
- Show passwords by selecting the eye icon in the logins details view.
- Access the website for a specific login by hovering over the item and selecting Go to website. You can also select the Go to website icon in the login details view.
- Copy passwords or logins by hovering over the item and selecting the Copy info icon. You can also select the copy icon that appears when hovering over the item in the login details view.
Manage Secure Notes, personal information, payments, and IDs
You currently can manage Secure Notes, personal information, and payments only from the web app. Learn how to access the web app.
Secure Notes
In the Secure Notes section, you'll be taken to the web app, where you can do the following:
- Add new notes by selecting Add new.
- Browse or search your notes using the search bar.
- Sort your notes by name, category, creation date, or the date they were last updated.
- Edit your notes by selecting the item in the list.

Note: For now, Secure File Storage in the web app is available only on Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium browsers such as Opera, Brave, and Vivaldi. Secure File Storage will be available on Firefox sometime in the coming months. Rest assured that your files are safe and you can manage them from our mobile apps or in another browser until they're available on Firefox. Learn more about Secure File Storage.
Personal information
In the Personal info section, you can do the following:
- Add new info by selecting the Add new button.
- Browse or search your information using the search bar.
- Collapse and expand the categories by selecting their header.
- Edit your information by selecting the item in the list.
Payments
In the Payments section, you'll be taken to the web app, where you can do the following:
- Add new items by selecting the Add new button.
- Browse or search your payments using the search bar.
- Edit your payments by selecting the item in the list.

IDs
In the IDs section, you can do the following:
- Add new IDs by selecting Add new.
- Browse or search your IDs using the search bar.
- Edit your IDs by selecting the item in the list.
- Copy your ID numbers by selecting the copy icon next to an ID when you hover over it.

Access the web app and manage your Dashlane account
Although most key features are available by selecting the Dashlane icon in your browser, the full web app allows you to perform more actions.
How to access the web app
You currently have three different ways to access the web app.
Option 1: The first and the most direct way is to go to https://app.dashlane.com/login after you've installed and set up your extension. You can access this URL if you haven't set up the extension, but it opens a version of the web app with fewer features that doesn't allow autofill.
Option 2: Log in to Dashlane in the extension and select the Open the web app button.
Option 3: Log in to Dashlane in the extension, select the More tab and then Open the app.

Manage your Dashlane account and subscription
Select My Account to access the following information:
- Subscription: View your current plan, Dashlane purchase receipts, and billing information, and manage your Dashlane subscription.
- Account Summary: View your login email, view or change your data and privacy settings, and view or change your contact email.
- Manage logins: View and manage the devices you've authorized to access your account and de-authorize any of them at any time.
- Security settings: Enable the ability to unlock your account with your fingerprint or look, change your Master Password, enable Account Recovery (available only for Dashlane business plans) or 2-factor authentication, and view the encryption method used for your account.
- Export Data: Export your data into a readable CSV file or a secure Dashlane backup file. Learn how to export your Dashlane data.
- Import passwords: Import your data from another Dashlane account or another password manager. Learn how to import your data into Dashlane.
- Family Dashboard: If you are a Family plan manager, you can use this dashboard to manage your plan members and settings.
- Sync now: Manually trigger Sync to ensure your data is shared across all your devices.
- Refer a friend: You can share a referral link from Outlook, Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail or share your referral link on Facebook and Twitter. A successful sign-up will grant both you and your friend six months of Dashlane Premium.
- Visit our Help Center: Visit our Help Center to learn about Dashlane or contact Customer Support.
- Suggest a feature: Visit our Feedback Portal, where you can leave feature suggestions for our Product team.
- Terms of Service: View our Terms of Service.
