Vault Enforcement is available to selected organizations with Credential Protection that have set up Confidential SSO and Credential Protection deployment. We also strongly recommend setting up Just-in-Time Provisioning to benefit from automated provisioning and onboarding.
Vault Enforcement lets admins require employees to log in to their Dashlane vault before they can access specific websites.
What is Vault Enforcement
Vault Enforcement adds a rule-based control to the Admin Console. When you add a domain to the enforcement list, Dashlane syncs the rule to every deployed browser extension on your team within about one hour.
You can use Vault Enforcement to:
- Add an extra layer of protection to your most critical websites: Enforce login for websites with sensitive data or privileged access, such as a customer relationship management (CRM) tool.
- Support a phased rollout: Enforce login on websites used by specific departments to build adoption one team at a time.
- Get your whole team on Dashlane: Enforce login on websites that most or all employees use to drive company-wide adoption.
If an employee visits a login or registration form on an enforced domain without being logged in to Dashlane, the extension shows a pop-up prompting them to log in. The first pop-up users will see can be dismissed. The next time the user tries to access the website without being logged in to Dashlane, they will see a blocking pop-up that can't be dismissed or bypassed.
Set up Vault Enforcement
- Go to Admin Console and select Vault Enforcement.
-
Enter the website you want to enforce and select the plus icon or press enter.
- Save the domain. Dashlane syncs the rule to the deployed extensions within about one hour.
-
Select a domain in the list to view its activity logs, including completed logins and errors.
- Select Remove next to a domain to stop enforcement for that website.
-
You can also add your company logo and a support contact to the pop-up, so users know who to reach out to if they have questions.
After the setup, once your employees start trying to access websites that are enforced, you'll start seeing those activities in the activity logs. In the Activity log page, you'll see rule changes, prompts shown, completed logins, and errors for each domain.
