- Turn on Touch ID in your device settings
- From the main menu, select the Settings menu, shown as a gear icon.
- Select Security and turn on Use Touch ID.

Can I use Master Password reset with biometrics on the Dashlane macOS app?
Everyone who has a device with Touch ID can reset their Master Password using biometric recovery if the settings were previously turned on. If you're a member of a Dashlane Business plan with single sign-on (SSO) enabled, this feature isn't available because you don't have a Master Password.
To use biometrics to reset your Master Password, you must have previously enabled Use Touch ID and Biometric recovery in the Dashlane app settings.
You must complete two steps to be able to reset your Master Password with biometrics.
- Turn on Touch ID
- Turn on Biometric recovery. Enter your Master Password if asked.
Important to note:
Because the two settings are linked, if you turn off Use Touch ID from your app settings, the Biometric recovery setting will also be turned off.
Adding a new fingerprint to the biometrics settings on your device or manually logging out from your device turns off the biometric lock and the Biometric recovery settings automatically. To ensure the security of your Dashlane account, enter your Master Password at your next login and turn on both settings again.
Reset your Master Password
After you turn on Biometric recovery, Dashlane offers you the option to reset your Master Password if these things happen:
- You enter an incorrect Master Password
- We don't recognize your fingerprint for Touch ID
If you're using 2-factor authentication, you also need to enter the token from your authenticator app.
