Follow these five steps to join a Starter, Team, or Business plan and start using Dashlane.
Step 1: Accept your invitation to join a plan
You’ll receive an invitation from your plan’s admin to join a Dashlane Starter, Team, or Business plan. In that email, select Get started and accept the invitation. Follow the prompts to create an account or join the plan with your existing Dashlane account.
If your admin invites you with an invite link instead, select the link and follow the prompts. If you already have a Dashlane account, you won't be able to join the plan from the link. Instead, join from the invite email you received from Dashlane.

Step 2: Install the Dashlane browser extension
The Dashlane browser extension is how you use Dashlane on your computer.
Install the Dashlane browser extension in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari
After installation, select Extensions, shown as a puzzle icon, in your browser's toolbar, and then select Pin, shown as a pin icon. Select your newly pinned extension pop-up, shown as a D in your browser's toolbar, for quick access to many of Dashlane's features. Select Open the web app from the pop-up to access more features and control your account settings.

Get started with the Dashlane web app
During your first few logins, you're prompted to turn on admin-assisted recovery and the recovery key. We recommend turning on both recovery methods and downloading the mobile app so that you can turn on biometrics and Biometric recovery.
Admin-assisted recovery
With admin-assisted recovery, you can make a request to your admin and, after approval, reset your Master Password without sharing or losing any personal data. To use admin-assisted recovery, you have to turn it on or activate it when prompted before you forget your Master Password.

Account recovery key
With Dashlane's recovery key, you can regain access to your Dashlane account without losing any of your data if you forget your Master Password. You'll provide your saved recovery key, complete an identity verification step, change your Master Password, and recover your account.
Setting up a recovery key isn't required, but the key protects you from being permanently locked out of your account. Think of your recovery key as your emergency key to your vault.

Biometric settings
We recommend that you turn on biometrics and Biometric recovery in the mobile app. Then you can reset your Master Password using your fingerprint or face.

Step 3: Turn off other password managers
To get the best experience with Dashlane, we recommend that you turn off any other password managers in your browser. Turn off password saving and autofill in these browsers:
Google Chrome | Mozilla Firefox | Microsoft Edge | Safari | iCloud Keychain
Step 4: Add your passwords and data to Dashlane
Dashlane automatically prompts you to save your usernames and passwords—known as logins—as you browse the internet. To start saving your logins to Dashlane, log in to any website and select Save in the Dashlane pop-up that appears.
You can also import from another password manager or CSV file
Or add passwords and login details manually
Step 5: Improve your Password Health
View and improve the security of your passwords. Open the web app from the extension pop-up and, from the Tools section, open your Password Health page.
More about your Password Health
If a password is compromised, reused, or weak, we recommend that you change it to a new, secure password, generated by Dashlane. When you log in with your new password, select Replace in the Dashlane pop-up that appears.
