You can securely share an item with other people who use Dashlane.
The steps provided throughout this article also apply when you share an item with members in professional plans and the sharing groups created by admins.
Share a single login, Secure Note, or secret in the web app
For secrets and Secure Notes, you can choose from three permission levels because you can't autofill the information for either item type. Secrets are available only to admins and members of organizations with Password Management.

Select the login, Secure Note, or secret you want to share.
Secure Notes with attachments won’t appear in the list to choose from.
- Select Share at the bottom of the panel.

Select Use Dashlane.
If you want to share an item with someone who doesn't have a Dashlane account, visit this article:

Enter or select the email address of the person or people you want to share with who also have Dashlane accounts.
To share items with a person for the first time, enter the person's full email address and select Add new contact. The person appears in the contact list only after the first share.
- Select Next.
- Choose the permission level and then select Share:
- Full access
- Can edit
- Can view

Can autofill
- Select Done in the confirmation pop-up.
All shared items have a special icon next to their names, shown as two people. To see who an item is shared with, select the item and then select the Shared access tab.

Go to Logins, Secure Notes, or Secrets and select the 3-dot menu for the item you want to share. Select Share.

- Select Confirm.
- On the Select permission level screen, choose the permission level:

To see who an item is shared with, open the item to see the details. In the Shared access section, select View all to see who has access and their permission. You can also see who hasn't accepted your invitation yet.

View the groups and individuals an item is shared with
All shared items have a special icon next to their names, shown as two people.
- To see who an item is shared with, select the item.
- On the item's details screen, select the right-pointing arrow in the Shared access section.
- On the Sharing screen, you can see the groups and individuals the item is shared with.

For logins, select Share login on the details page. For Secure Notes, select Share secure note. For secrets, select Share secret.

In the Select who to share with pop-up, enter or select the email address of the person or people you want to share with who also have Dashlane accounts.

- Select Next in the top right of the pop-up to continue.
- In the Select permission level pop-up, choose the permission level you want to assign:
- Full access
- Can edit
- Can view

- Select the checkmark in the top right of the pop-up to share. A success message appears. Select Done.

- To see who the item is shared with, select the item.
- On the item's details screen, select the right-pointing arrow in the Shared access section.
- On the Sharing screen, you can view the groups and individuals the item is shared with and edit access.
