You can lock the Dashlane app anytime by selecting Lock or Lock app, depending on the device you're using. On mobile, you can also set up the app to lock automatically.

Lock the Dashlane web app and extension
In the web app and extension, you have the option to lock your app in two situations:
If you have a passwordless account or you've turned on PIN unlock or biometric unlock, you can lock the app anytime. While your app is locked, you can't access your data in the web app or extension pop-up. We'll also stop autofilling your information until you unlock the app.
To lock the app, you can select the Dashlane D in your browser toolbar to open the extension pop-up and then select More and Lock. You can also lock the extension from the web app by opening the My account menu and selecting Lock.
Note: You'll only see the option to lock the web app or extension if you turn on PIN unlock or biometric unlock.

Lock the Dashlane Android app
You can lock your app anytime by selecting the three parallel lines to open the side menu. Then select Lock app at the bottom of the menu.
If you've turned on PIN lock or biometric unlock or you have a passwordless Dashlane account, you'll use your fingerprint or PIN code to open Dashlane after locking your Android app. If you don't have a passwordless account and haven't turned on PIN lock or biometric unlock on your mobile device, you'll need your Master Password to get back in.

Log in to Dashlane without a Master Password
You can also set your app to lock automatically after you've been inactive. This setting ensures that no one can access your data, even if you lose your phone.
- Log in to the Dashlane Android app.
- Select the three parallel lines to open the side menu.
- Select Settings and then Security.
- Select Auto-lock time.
- From the menu, select a period of time. When you don't use Dashlane for the period of time selected, the app locks automatically.
The timeout is set to 15 minutes automatically. But you can choose any amount of time between 5 seconds and 15 minutes. Select Never to turn Auto-lock off.

- Log in to the Dashlane Android app.

- Select Settings and then Security.
- Select Auto-lock - Lock on exit.
If you turn off Auto-lock - lock on exit, we'll ask for your Master Password or your fingerprint if you've turned on biometric unlock.
Lock the Dashlane iPhone app
You can lock your app anytime by selecting Settings in the bottom menu of the Dashlane app. Then select Lock app at the bottom of the screen.
If you've turned on Use Face ID or Use PIN or you have a passwordless Dashlane account, you'll use your Face ID or PIN code to open Dashlane after locking your iPhone app. If you don't have a passwordless account and haven't turned on Use Face ID or Use PIN on your mobile device, you'll need your Master Password to get back in.

Log in to Dashlane without a Master Password
You can also set your app to lock automatically after you've been inactive. This setting ensures that no one can access your data, even if you lose your phone.
- Log in to the Dashlane iPhone app.
- Select Settings and then Security.
- For Auto-lock timeout, select the existing amount shown to open the menu, for example, 5 minutes.
- From the menu, select a period of time. When you don't use Dashlane for the period of time selected, the app locks automatically.
You can choose an amount of time between 10 seconds and 10 minutes. Select Never to turn off Auto-lock timeout.
On the same screen, turn on Lock on exit to lock your app automatically whenever you leave it—when you go to the home screen, switch between apps, or close the screen.
To turn off Lock on exit, you'll need to enter your Master Password or use Face ID if you've turned it on.
