You can log out of an account protected by a PIN at any time. Before you log out, make sure you're logged in to Dashlane on at least one other device. With this type of account, if you're not logged in to Dashlane anywhere, you could lose access to your account and data.
Don't want to log out? You can lock your vault instead. When you lock your vault, you stay logged in to Dashlane, and you'll need your PIN to unlock your vault. If you've set up biometrics, you can also use your face or fingerprint.

Log out of an account protected by a PIN in your web browser
- Select the Vault menu in the top-left of the page.
- Select Log out.

Optional: In the pop-up, you can select Forget this device to remove the browser you're using from your Dashlane account. If you select Forget this device, Dashlane will ask you to use the security challenge the next time you log in.
Add devices with the security challenge
Important: Only select Forget this device if you're still logged in to Dashlane on another device or have access to an account recovery key. You'll need the other device or your recovery key to log back in. Without either, you could get locked out and lose your data.
Set up and use your account recovery key - Select Log out.
You can also log out through the Dashlane extension. Select the Dashlane D extension icon, then More, and then Log out. You're also logged out if you close your browser or turn off your computer.
When you log out through the extension, close your browser, or turn off your computer, you don't have the option to select Forget this device. You'll need your PIN to log back in to your account.

Important: Only log out of an account protected by a PIN on Android if you're logged in to Dashlane on another device. If you log out of an account protected by a PIN on all devices, you could get locked out and lose your data.
I can't access my PIN-protected account
- Select the three parallel lines to open the side menu.
- Select Settings.
- At the bottom of the menu, select Log out.
- Confirm by selecting Log out in the pop-up.
You can also lock your vault at any time to protect your data by selecting Lock app at the bottom of the side menu. After you lock your vault, you use your PIN to get back in. If you've set up biometrics for your Dashlane account, you can also use your face or fingerprint to access your data.

Important: Only log out of an account protected by a PIN on iPhone or iPad if you're logged in to Dashlane on another device. If you log out of a PIN-protected account on all devices, you could get locked out and lose your data.
