To make sure Dashlane runs smoothly, you need to keep your computer, phone, or tablet—often referred to as devices—up to date. If you're using the web app, you also need a recent browser version. We sometimes use the term "minimum requirements" to refer to the earliest version of your device and browser you can use with Dashlane.
Keeping your device and browser updated ensures that you can use the most recent version of the Dashlane app.
Note: We can't guarantee Dashlane will work as intended in Developer Mode or beta versions of mobile devices and browsers in the testing phase. We only ensure that Dashlane functions on official and stable versions that meet the minimum system requirements.
Why do I need a recent version of the Dashlane app?
Dashlane releases new versions every one or two weeks. These updates include new and improved features and bug fixes. But they also include necessary security improvements that help us keep your data safe.
Additionally, we deactivate versions of our app that are older than 12 months. Deactivating older versions of Dashlane is a requirement for keeping your data secure. You can't log in to Dashlane if you haven't updated your app in the past 12 months.
You can check which versions of your app are expiring by going to our release notes and looking at the versions released a year ago.

What if I can't update my Dashlane app?
If your device doesn't allow you to update to the latest version of Dashlane, we recommend trying to update your operating system and browser. To keep your data secure, Dashlane only works with recent versions of operating systems and browsers.
If you receive a message that says the app may not work soon, you might have an older device that doesn't allow you to update to a version that works with Dashlane. In this case, you must use another device with a more recent operating system.

What browsers can I use with the Dashlane browser extension and web app?
You can use the Dashlane web app and extension with the latest versions of these browsers:
- Firefox
- Safari
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Other Chromium browsers
- Chromium-based AI browsers like Perplexity's Comet, OpenAI's ChatGPT Atlas, and Atlassian's Dia
You can use most of Dashlane's features on AI browsers — including your vault, autofill, security alerts, and more. However, for security reasons, the browser's AI agent won't be able to interact with the Dashlane browser extension to use data stored in your vault when completing tasks for you.
You can't currently use the Dashlane browser extension in the browser DuckDuckGo because DuckDuckGo doesn't allow you to install extensions.
Notes:
- For Dashlane to work properly, keep your browser up to date. You need one of the last two major versions of your browser. For example, if the current version of Chrome is 122.0.6261.129, you can use any version that starts with 121 or 122.
-
You can find information about your current version and how to update your browser on these support pages:
Google Chrome | Mozilla Firefox | Microsoft Edge | Safari | Opera
- If your Chrome version is 114 or earlier, you won't be able to update the Dashlane extension.
-
You can use the web app on your phone or tablet, but you can't install the Dashlane extension. We recommend installing our mobile app if you want to use Dashlane on your mobile device.
