How you export all your passwords and other data from Dashlane depends on what you're trying to do. You can export passwords and other data from your Dashlane account in two ways:
- To migrate to a different password manager, export your data in a CSV file.
- To save all your Dashlane data to be able to import it back into Dashlane now or at a later date, export your data in an encrypted Dashlane secure archive file, called a DASH file.
If you'd like to share passwords with someone, we recommend sharing them through Dashlane, which is more secure.

Export to a CSV file
Exporting your Dashlane data to CSV includes your logins and password details, IDs, payment information, personal information, and Secure Notes. Dashlane exports each type of data to a separate CSV file and creates a ZIP file for download.
You can export CSV files in the web app only.
Note: Passwords shared with limited rights aren't included in CSV exports.
Important note for Dashlane Team or Business plan members: If a plan admin turned on Smart Space Management, your export will include only your personal information and nothing from your Business Space. Before exporting, please move any personal items from your Business space to your Personal space or contact an admin.
Important! CSV files are not encrypted and can be read by other people. We recommend you delete the CSV file from your device as soon as you're finished using the file.
Export to a CSV file in the web app
- In the My account menu, select Settings and then Export Data.
- Enter your Master Password and select Unlock.
- Select Export to CSV.
If your Team or Business plan admin has turned on Smart Space Management, a message appears reminding you to move personal items from your Business space to your Personal space. Select Continue when ready.
Dashlane downloads the ZIP file containing the CSV files to your computer's "Downloads" folder or your default download location.
Export to a DASH file
DASH files are unique to Dashlane and cannot be used outside Dashlane. You export to an encrypted DASH file to securely save all the data—logins, passwords, Secure Notes—you've stored in Dashlane and import it back into a Dashlane account.
You can use a DASH file to do the following:
- Recover a Dashlane account
- Migrate information to another Dashlane account
- Change your Dashlane account email
- Securely share your Dashlane data with a trusted person in case of emergency
You can export DASH files in the web app and the Android app. You currently cannot export data using the iOS (Apple) or Safari apps.
Note: Passwords shared with limited rights and files attached to Secure Notes aren't included in DASH exports. If you have files attached to Secure Notes, download your Secure note file attachments before exporting.
