How you export all your logins and other data from Dashlane depends on what you're trying to do.
- Migrate to a different password manager: Export your data to a CSV file
- Back up your data: Export your data to an encrypted Dashlane secure archive (DASH) file
If you want to share passwords with someone, we recommend sharing them through Dashlane, which is more secure than sharing using a file of any kind.
Import passwords and other data into Dashlane
Migrate to a different password manager
To migrate to a different password manager, export your data to a CSV file. The export includes your login and password details, IDs, payment information, personal information, and Secure Notes. Passwords shared with limited rights aren't included. Dashlane exports each type of data to separate CSV files and creates a ZIP file for download.
You can export your data to CSV files in the web app only.
Important note for Dashlane Starter, Team, or Business plan members: If a plan admin turned on Smart Space Management, your export will include only your personal information and nothing from your Business Space. Before exporting, move any personal items from your Business Space to your Personal Space or contact an admin.
Smart Space Management
Note: CSV files aren't encrypted and can be read by other people. Delete the CSV file from your device as soon as you're finished using the file.
Export to a CSV file in the web app
- In the My account menu, select Settings and then Export Data.
- Enter your Master Password and select Unlock.
- Select Export to CSV.
Your Starter, Team, or Business plan admin may have turned on Smart Space Management. Then a message appears reminding you to move personal items from your Business Space to your Personal Space. Select Continue when ready.
Dashlane downloads the ZIP file containing the CSV files to your computer's "Downloads" folder or your default download location.
Back up your data
To back up your data, export your data to a DASH file—an encrypted or "locked" Dashlane secure archive file. DASH files are unique to Dashlane and can't be used outside Dashlane.
You can use your DASH backup file to perform these actions:
- Recover a Dashlane account
- Migrate information to another Dashlane account
- Change your Dashlane account email
- Securely share your Dashlane data with a trusted person in case of emergency
You export to a DASH file to securely save all your data. Your data includes logins, passwords, and Secure Notes. With a DASH file, you can import your data back into a new or existing Dashlane account.
Passwords shared with limited rights and files attached to Secure Notes aren't included in DASH exports. If you have files attached to Secure Notes, download your Secure Notes file attachments before exporting.

You can export DASH files in the web app and the Android app only. You currently can't export data using the iOS (Apple) or Safari apps.
Important note for Dashlane Starter, Team, or Business plan members: If a plan admin turned on Smart Space Management, your export will include only your personal information and nothing from your Business Space. Before exporting, move any personal items from your Business Space to your Personal Space or contact an admin.
