Dashlane is designed to make your life online both easier and more secure. By default, Dashlane will log you in automatically to the sites you use. But if you don't want it to or you encounter an error, you can turn off the auto-login feature for specific websites. Here's how.
Dashlane won't auto-login or autofill HTTP websites
As a security measure, Dashlane never automatically logs you in to or autofills a webpage using HTTP. It will only do so on pages using HTTPS. For example, it would autofill https://www.dashlane.com/ but not http://www.dashlane.com/.
Most websites have adopted the HTTPS standard, but if you notice Dashlane refusing to log you in automatically on an HTTP page, remember that it's by design!
Turn off auto-login for a specific login
- In the Logins section, open the login you want to change.
- Turn off Automatically log me in to this website.
- Select Save.
What if Dashlane redirects to the wrong page or gets stuck when logging me in?
Depending on how the website is designed, Dashlane might not be able to detect the fields needed to successfully log you in or might redirect you to the wrong part of a website.
If this happens, do the following:
- In the Logins section, open the login you want to change.
- Copy and paste the exact URL address of the login page into the Website field.
- Select Save.
- Open the website again.
If the automatic login still does not work as expected or Dashlane still tries to log you in when you don't want to, turn off Automatically log me in to this website. You can try to turn it on again if the website updates its interface.
