Important: This article is about the payment cards and accounts stored in your Dashlane vault. If you want information on managing how you pay for Dashlane, check out our article on Dashlane billing and subscriptions.
Manage Dashlane billing and subscription
You can add credit and debit cards, PayPal info, and bank accounts in the Payments section of your Dashlane vault. You can safely store your payment methods in your vault and use them anytime you pay for something online.
You can't store login info or the billing address you use during online checkout in the Payments section of Dashlane. To add or edit a billing address or login associated with your payment account, you need to use other sections of Dashlane:
- Use the personal info section to manage billing addresses
- Use the logins section to manage usernames and passwords for payment accounts
With Dashlane's secure sharing, you can share logins and Secure Notes with other Dashlane customers—but not payment types.
Add payment cards and accounts to your Dashlane vault
Add payment info to your vault in the web app
- Go to the Payments section in the web app.
- Select + Add new and select the type of card or account you want to add.
- Add your payment information and item name.
Note: You can add extra info like your PIN or billing address in the Notes section.
- Optionally, for payment cards, you can choose the color of the card icon that appears in your list of payment methods by selecting the Card color dropdown. Selecting a color is helpful when you have multiple cards to choose from.
- Select Save.
You can access your payment information through the Dashlane Smart Extension by selecting the Dashlane D icon in your browser toolbar and then Payments. You can't add a payment method in the extension. But you can select the plus (+) icon, which takes you to the web app where you can add your payment method.
Add payment info to your vault in the Android app
You can add payment types directly in the Android app. For most credit and debit cards, you can add your information to Dashlane with a simple tap using Android's near-field communication (NFC) technology.
Turn on NFC for a Samsung device
- Open the Home screen in the Dashlane Android app.
- Select Payments in the bar on the Home screen and select + Add new.
- From the menu, select Credit/Debit Card or Bank account.
- Add your payment information. For payment cards, you're required to enter a card number. But you can also enter a security code and expiration date.
Tip: If you're adding a credit or debit card and have NFC turned on, hold your card to the back of your device. Dashlane autofills the card information.
What to do if you have problems with NFCFor bank accounts and payment cards, you can choose the Country where the account is located. For some countries, you can select the Bank and choose from a list of banks. If you don't see your bank on the list, you can select Other.

Important: If you want to autofill your billing address during online checkout, make sure to add your billing address in the Personal info section of Dashlane.

Having trouble using NFC?
Check that your card is compatible with NFC by looking for the contactless icon.
Make sure you've turned on NFC on your device. Look for the NFC tile in the Quick settings menu when you swipe down from the top of your Android device.
Add payment info to your vault in the iPhone app
To add personal info, select Home in the Dashlane iPhone app.
All the item types appear in a bar near the top. Select Payments, select Add payment info, and then select the payment type from the menu.
You can also select the plus (+) icon in the upper-right corner of the Home screen.
- Select Add payment.
- Select the type of payment you want to add.
- Enter all the relevant information. You can choose the Country where the account is located. If you don't see your country, you can select World. For some countries, you can select the Issuing bank and choose from a list of banks. If you don't see your bank on the list, you can select Other.
- Select Save in the upper-right corner.
Note: You can add extra info like your PIN or billing address in the Notes section. If you want to autofill your billing address during online checkout, make sure to add your billing address in the Personal info section of Dashlane.

- Go to the Payments section and select the card or account you want to edit.
- You can edit information like your name or the item name by placing your cursor in the field. To edit sensitive information—like your card number, account number, or three-digit security code—select the Show icon, shown as an eye, next to the field you want to edit.
Note: You can add extra info like your PIN or billing address in the Notes section.
- If asked, enter your Master Password.
- After you finish editing, select Save.
You can access your payment information through the Dashlane Smart Extension. Select the Dashlane D icon in your browser toolbar and then Payments. You can't make edits in the extension. To make changes to the payment, select the pencil icon, which takes you to the web app.

Autofill payment info with Dashlane during online checkout
To autofill payment info in Safari, you'll need to install the Dashlane Smart Extension for Safari.
Install the Dashlane Smart Extension for Safari
When shopping online, you can autofill items saved in Dashlane during checkout. To autofill payment methods, you need to be logged in to Dashlane in your computer browser.
Note: Dashlane doesn't autofill payment methods in mobile apps, but you can copy and paste your info from the Dashlane app.
- While shopping online on your computer, select the Card number field and a pop-up appears.
- Choose the card or account you want to pay with, and Dashlane autofills the form.
- Enter your Master Password and select Unlock. For security reasons, we ask you to enter your Master Password whenever you autofill payment info. After you select Unlock, we won't ask you for your Master Password to autofill payment methods for another five minutes.
Tip: Turn on Biometric unlock in your web app settings to use Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a security key instead of your Master Password when autofilling payment methods in Google Chrome or another Chromium browser.

If you have a passwordless Dashlane account or log in using single sign-on (SSO), you won't be asked for your Master Password when you autofill a payment method. Instead, you'll see a pop-up asking if you're sure you want to autofill the payment method. Select Autofill to continue.
You can turn off Master Password protection for specific payment methods in the Dashlane Smart Extension. Open the payment method in the extension and select the Copy icon, shown as two pieces of paper. You can copy your card number, security code, or note.
In the pop-up that opens, enter your Master Password, select the checkbox, and then select Copy item. The next time you copy and paste information for that payment method, we won't ask for your Master Password.

Copy and paste payment info from the Dashlane Smart Extension
The copy and paste pop-up isn't available when using Safari due to a limitation on Safari’s side.
You can view and copy payment info from the extension as you browse the web. You'll need to enter your Master Password to copy payment details.
- To open the extension, select the Dashlane D in your browser’s toolbar and enter your Master Password if prompted.
- In the Payments section, point to the item you want to copy details from.
- Select the Copy icon and then select the detail you want to copy like the card number.
- Paste the detail into the form field.
- After you paste the detail, a pop-up appears in your browser so that you can easily copy other relevant details like the security code or expiration date.
- Return to the form field and paste the information.
To enter another detail, return to the extension and copy it. The copy and paste pop-up reappears after you copy and paste from the extension on the same page.

Delete payment cards and accounts from your Dashlane vault
Delete payment info from your vault in the web app
Select Payments and open the item you want to delete. Then select the trash can icon at the bottom of the details screen. In the pop-up, select Delete again. The item is removed from your vault.
You can't delete items from the extension pop-up. But from the extension, you can open and delete the item in the web app. Select the item you want to delete and then select the pencil icon. The web app opens where you can delete your item.
Delete payment info from your vault in the mobile app
To delete one of your entries in the Android or iPhone apps, select Payments. Next to the entry you want to delete, select the 3-dot menu, and then Delete. The entry is removed from your vault.
