Absolutely. All Dashlane users can invite their friends to join Dashlane.
If the invitation is successful, both Dashlane users – the one sending the invitation and the referred user – will be granted a referral reward of 6 months of Dashlane Premium. You can earn up to 2 years of free Premium at a time and there is no limit to how many friends you can give 6 months to for free.
Note that the VPN feature is not available to free Premium users.
How to invite a friend
To invite a friend to join Dashlane, you will need to log in to the Web app by following this link. Enter your Dashlane email and your Master Password to log in. Alternatively, you can invite your friends from the Help menu of the Desktop app, or from Settings on your mobile app.
Once you are logged in, click on My Account in the bottom-left corner. A panel will display on the right side of your screen where you'll see the option to Refer a Friend.
You then have the choice between copying your referral link in order to share it directly with your friends, Dashlane sending your friends an email, or posting directly to Facebook and Twitter.
To give your friends the referral link directly, copy the link indicated in green.
Otherwise, if you want Dashlane to send your friends an email, enter their email addresses, and optionally your name, and click Send. You can also share the referral via Facebook and Twitter.
When one of your friends accepts your invitation to join Dashlane, both you and them will be granted a referral reward. You can repeat the process as often as you want.
Why was I not granted a referral reward?
There are several reasons why the invitation might not have worked:
- The person invited to join Dashlane did not use the link provided (either by you or in the email Dashlane sent them) to create their account. In this case, you can either send them another invite to a different email address or contact us directly to fix this issue. When writing to us, please provide both your and your friend's emails.
- The person invited to join Dashlane already had a Dashlane account associated with their email address. In this case, they are not eligible for the referral program.
Note that we have a system in place to prevent certain users from abusing this referral program to obtain free, unlimited Premium. If the person invited did not have an account and did click on the right referral link, it's possible that the system mistakenly prevented you and your friends from being granted their referral reward. If you think this might be the case, please contact us and provide both of your email addresses.
The code is said to be invalid
If you've attempted to redeem your code by clicking on the given button in your reward email, and you are prompted with an error message informing you the code is invalid, it is likely that you are presently part of a Dashlane Business account. This prevents you from redeeming Dashlane Premium promotional codes. We currently do not have referral codes for Dashlane Business accounts.
