You can uninstall Dashlane whenever you want. Uninstalling removes the Dashlane app from your phone or computer. You can reinstall Dashlane anytime.
Uninstalling Dashlane does not cancel your subscription or delete your Dashlane account. If you've paid for Dashlane and want to use Dashlane Free instead, you need to cancel your current plan. If you want to leave Dashlane altogether, you need to delete your account. Deleting your account erases all data linked to your account.

Uninstall the Dashlane extension
To uninstall the extension in most browsers, right-click the Dashlane D and select Remove extension or Remove from Chrome, for example. Then confirm by selecting Remove in the pop-up that opens.

You can also remove the extension from the extensions menu of most browsers. To see instructions, select the browser you're using:

Uninstall Dashlane in Safari
- In Safari, go to Settings (or Preferences in older versions of Safari) and select the Extensions tab.
- In the pop-up, clear the Dashlane checkbox and select Uninstall.
- Select Show in Finder to go to the Applications folder.
- Right-click the Dashlane icon and select Move to Bin. You can also drag the app to the Trash.
Note: Older versions of the Dashlane extension were part of the Dashlane desktop app. If you have an old version of the app, follow the instructions for uninstalling the desktop app.

Note: Make sure all your data is backed up on our servers before you uninstall Dashlane. To check that your data is syncing to our servers, log in to Dashlane in a web browser and make sure all your data is visible.
Sync your data
- Find the Dashlane app icon on your Android device.
- Hold your finger on the icon until a pop-up opens.
- Select Uninstall.
- In the pop-up, select OK.
You can also go to your device Settings and select Applications or Apps. Then select Dashlane in the app menu and Uninstall. In the pop-up, select OK.

Uninstall Dashlane on iOS (Apple)

- Find the Dashlane app icon on the main iOS home screen.
- Hold your finger down on the icon until a menu opens.
- Select Remove App.
To reinstall Dashlane on your iOS (Apple) device, go to the Apple App Store.

Uninstall the Dashlane desktop app
The desktop app is no longer available for download. If you still have the desktop app, this section has steps for uninstalling it.
Note: Make sure all your data is backed up on our servers before you uninstall Dashlane. To check that your data is syncing to our servers, log in to Dashlane in a web browser and make sure all your data is visible.
Sync your data
The process depends on the type of computer you're using. Select the process that applies to you.
Uninstall the desktop app on a Mac computer
- Download the Dashlane Uninstaller
- Go to your Dashlane app. In the File menu, select Log out.
- Quit the desktop app.
- Go to the Uninstaller in your download folder.
- Open the Uninstaller, select Uninstall, and then confirm.
- Open a Finder window. Select Go and then Applications in the menu bar.
- Move the Dashlane app from the Applications folder to the Trash or Bin.
- Restart your computer and empty the Trash or Bin.
If you installed the Dashlane desktop app from the Apple App Store, you might also be able to uninstall our app based on the information on the Apple support website.
Uninstall apps on your Mac
If you get an error message when using the Dashlane Uninstaller app, check your security settings.
- Open System Settings and go to Privacy & Security.
- In the Privacy & Security pop-up, select the lock icon at the bottom left to unlock your settings.
- Go to Allow applications downloaded from and select App Store and identified developers.
You should now be able to run the Uninstaller as recommended above.
Uninstall the desktop app on a Windows device
- Select the Start menu, shown as the Windows icon, then right-click the Dashlane icon and select Uninstall. You can also go to Settings and select Apps. Then select Dashlane in the list of apps and select Uninstall.
- Select Uninstall again in the pop-up.
- The confirmation pop-up asks whether you also want to delete all your personal data on this computer. To delete your data, select the checkbox.
Important: If you select this checkbox, all your logins, passwords, Secure Notes, and personal information will be deleted from this computer.
- To continue, select Uninstall.
In some cases, you might get an error message about a browser running even though you've closed out of all browsers. To fix the issue, try restarting your computer and then uninstalling Dashlane before you open any browsers.
If that doesn't work, follow these steps:
- Press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to open the task manager pop-up.
- If you see a browser running, open the browser and go to Settings for that browser.
- In the System section, look for the option Continue running background apps when your browser is closed. Turn off that option.
- In the task manager, select the browser and then End task.
- Restart your computer before uninstalling Dashlane.
