When you use Dashlane for the first time on a new device, we ask you to take an extra step to confirm that you're the person logging in. In addition to entering your Master Password, you'll use an email verification code, a 2-factor authentication (2FA) token, or in some cases, a QR code to prove that the device belongs to you. We sometimes call this step "authenticating" your device or adding an "authorized device."
Use Dashlane on a new device
Use Dashlane Free on one device at a time
After you log in on a device for the first time, we add the phone, tablet, or browser you’re using to a list of devices connected to your account. The next time you log in to Dashlane on that device, you skip the authorization step. Instead, you'll enter your Master Password directly or use your face, fingerprint, or PIN code to access your account, depending on your settings.
You can view and manage the devices connected to your account in any Dashlane app and check when each device was added and last used. You can also remove any device from the list of devices connected to your account. After you remove a device or "revoke access," you'll have to complete the authorization step the next time you log in to Dashlane on that device.
Tip: Revoking access is a good idea if you logged in on someone else's device or a device you no longer use.
