You can change your Dashlane plan at any time. You can also view and update your billing information and change how often you're billed. This article explains how to make changes to your plan and billing settings.

Your options for changing plans depend on what plan you currently have. You can check what plan you have in the web app. In the My account menu, select Settings and then Subscription to see your current plan.

Upgrade your plan
You can upgrade your plan at any time. When you upgrade, you keep any data you've saved in your Dashlane account. You may also get a discount or a partial refund, depending on where you bought your current plan and where you plan to upgrade.
Where do you want to upgrade?
- Cancel the automatic renewal of your current plan. You'll keep any data you've already saved in Dashlane.
- Sign up for the plan you want. If you're upgrading before the end of your billing period, make sure to use the same email address you used for your current plan. That way, you may receive a discount on your new plan.
Get a discount on your new plan
When you upgrade on the Dashlane website before your current billing period ends, you can get a discount on your new plan. This discount is prorated, which means the amount depends on how much time you have left in your current billing period.
Example of a discount when you upgrade on our website:
You have a yearly subscription to Dashlane Premium that you bought for $60. You have four months left before your renewal date, and you buy a yearly Friends & Family plan. We give you a discount of $20—the cost of your remaining four months of Premium at $5 per month.
Go to the Dashlane Android app and select Upgrade in the side menu. Choose the plan you want, and you'll check out through the Google Play Store.
Important: You can only get a refund in Google Play if you bought your current plan in the same app store. If you bought your plan on the Dashlane website, upgrade on the website to get a discount on your new plan.
Get a partial refund on your current plan
If you bought your current plan in the Google Play Store, you can upgrade before your renewal date and get a refund on your current plan. When you upgrade in Google Play, you'll receive an automatic refund for the remaining time in your billing period.
Example of a refund when you upgrade in Google Play:
You have a yearly subscription to Dashlane Premium that you bought for $60. You have four months left before your renewal date, and you buy a yearly Friends & Family plan. We give you a $20 refund for the remaining time of your Premium plan.
Go to the Dashlane iOS (Apple) app and select See plan options in the Settings menu. Choose the plan you want, and you'll check out through the Apple App Store.
Important: You can only get a refund in Apple App Store if you bought your current plan in the same app store. If you bought your plan on the Dashlane website, upgrade on the website to get a discount on your new plan.
Get a partial refund on your current plan
If you bought your current plan in the Apple App Store, you can upgrade before your renewal date and get a refund on your current plan. When you upgrade in the App Store, you'll receive an automatic refund for the remaining time in your billing period.

You have a yearly subscription to Dashlane Premium that you bought for $60. You have four months left before your renewal date, and you buy a yearly Friends & Family plan. We give you a $20 refund for the remaining time of your Premium plan.
Switch to a lower-cost plan
If you don't need all the benefits of your current plan, you can switch to a lower-cost plan. When you switch plans, you keep any data you've saved in your Dashlane account.
Important: When you switch to a lower-cost plan, you keep the benefits of your current plan until the end of the billing period. We recommend waiting until the end of your current billing period before starting this process to avoid paying for two plans at once.
- Cancel your current plan. You'll keep any data you've saved in your Dashlane account.
- Sign up for the plan you want.
Cancel your plan
You can cancel your Dashlane subscription at any time. When you cancel your subscription, you can use your current Dashlane plan until the end of your billing period. You also keep any data you've saved in your Dashlane account.
How you cancel depends on where you paid for Dashlane.

If you paid for Dashlane on our website with a credit card: You can cancel your subscription in the web app.
- From the My account menu, select Subscription.
- Select cancel your subscription.
- On the next page, select Cancel subscription.
If you paid for Dashlane using PayPal: You need to cancel your automatic payment directly with PayPal.

Renew your plan
In most cases, Dashlane subscriptions renew automatically.
If you bought your subscription on our website and the card you used expires, we won't renew your subscription automatically. We send you an email to let you know. You need to buy a new subscription from our website.
When you cancel your subscription, you can use your current Dashlane plan until the end of your billing period. But your subscription doesn't renew.

You can pay for your Dashlane subscription once a month or once a year. You can change how often you're billed at any time. This process depends on where you paid for Dashlane.

You can change your billing period from your mobile device. Whether your current subscription is monthly or yearly, the changes you make will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

If you paid for Dashlane on our website with a credit card: You can view and update your billing info in the web app. From the My account menu, select Subscription:
- To edit and update billing info, select Update payment. Make your changes and select Save.
- To see past receipts, select View receipts in the Billing history section. Find the receipt you want to download and select the download icon, shown as an arrow and a box. You can also add billing information to the receipt before downloading when you select Add details. Then select Save and download.
If you paid for Dashlane using PayPal: You need to view and update your billing info directly in PayPal.
If you paid for your plan in the Google Play Store, you need to view and update your billing info directly with Google Play.
If you paid for your plan in the Apple App Store, you need to view and update your billing info directly with Apple.
Common questions
How do I use a promotional code?
You might have a promotional code from a Dashlane marketing campaign or if you bought a subscription from one of our partners. Follow these steps to use the code:
- Go to our plan page and select Purchase now for the plan you want to buy.
- If you already have a Dashlane account, enter the email address you use to log in to your account. If you don't have Dashlane, you can create an account on this plan page.
- Enter your payment details.
- In the Order Summary section, select Enter a promo code. Then enter your code and select Apply.
- Select Complete my purchase.
If you created your Dashlane login during this process, you need to download Dashlane and create an account.

How do I take advantage of the 30-day refund guarantee?
We want you to love Dashlane. That's why we offer a full refund within 30 days if you aren't satisfied with your plan. The refund process depends on where you paid for Dashlane.
Where did you buy your Dashlane plan?
If you bought your subscription on our website, contact us for your refund. Be sure to provide us with the email address you use with Dashlane.
If you bought Dashlane from the Google Play Store, contact us for your refund. Be sure to provide us with these details:
- The email address you use to log in to Dashlane
- The login of the Google account you use to access Google Play on your Android device
- The transaction ID from when you bought your Dashlane plan
Your transaction ID looks like this example: GPA.1234-4567-8901-23456. You can find your transaction ID on the Google receipt. You can find the Google receipt in your email or the Google Play Store.
If you bought Dashlane from the Apple App Store, you need to cancel your subscription with Apple. Then contact Apple directly for your refund.
I paid for Dashlane but can't see my subscription in the app. What do I do?
Select the app you're using.
- Select My account and Log out.
- Log back in with the Dashlane extension.
Important: Make sure to log in with the same email address you used to buy your subscription.
- Select the My account menu to see the email address you used to log in and the name of your plan—Free, Advanced, Premium, or Friends & Family.
- In the Settings section, select the Security tab and then select Log out.
- Log back in again.

If you don't see the name of the plan you paid for, you can contact our Customer Support team. You can help us solve the problem by giving us specific info depending on where you paid for Dashlane.
Select where you paid for Dashlane, and include as much of this information as possible when you contact us.
Send us a screenshot of the invoice you received after buying your subscription. Make sure all details of the invoice are visible.
If you paid with a credit card: Give us the last four digits of the credit card you used, the expiration date, and the full name on the card. Tell us the date you bought your plan and how much you paid.
If you paid with PayPal: Give us the transaction number on your PayPal receipt.

Why was I charged twice for Dashlane?
In certain situations, like switching to a lower-cost plan and changing the way you pay for Dashlane, we ask you to cancel your current plan and buy a new one. But when you cancel your Dashlane subscription, you keep your current plan until the end of the billing period.
To avoid paying for two plans at once, we recommend waiting until the end of your billing period before you do these things:
- Switch to a lower-cost plan
- Change how often you pay for Dashlane
- Change where you pay for Dashlane—our website, the Google Play Store, or the Apple App Store
