With Secure Notes, you can store private keys to software, WiFi passwords, and other important documents that need to be stored securely but accessed easily. Keep them safe, private, and accessible only to you and the people you choose to share them with.

Available options for your Secure Notes
Choose a category for your note so you'll be able to sort them more easily in the list.
IMPORTANT: Categories you created before the sunset will be available in the web app, but you won't be able to create new categories or delete/rename existing categories from the web app. We'll do our best to add this feature to the web app as soon as possible, but we cannot share an estimated delivery date at this time. In the meantime, as a workaround, you can add keywords in the Notes field in the login details and then search for those keywords to locate the item.
Secure File Storage
Secure File Storage allows you to use the same powerful encryption and security infrastructure used to protect your passwords and Secure Notes to encrypt and store your sensitive documents in your Dashlane app. Learn how to use Secure File Storage.
IMPORTANT: The feature hasn’t been added to the web app yet, but we're very close to releasing it in the next few weeks (note if you're using Dashlane in Firefox, it could take more time.) Rest assured that your files are safe and you can download them from our mobile apps until they're available in the web app. If you're a Safari user, you can also manage Secure files using the new Dashlane app for Safari users. Be sure to check out the steps to install the Safari app and the Minimum requirements for each app.
Lock notes with your Master Password
You can lock a specific note with your Master Password by clicking or tapping the small padlock icon. You will need to enter your Master Password to access this note. Once you unlock a note with your Master Password, it will stay unlocked until you manually lock it again or log out of Dashlane.
IMPORTANT: The feature hasn’t been added to the web app yet, but we plan to add it in the future. However, you can password-protect the Secure Notes from the mobile apps, which will reflect on the web app.
You can assign different colors to your notes to make them easier to identify using the Color option next to Categories when editing a note.
Share your notes securely with other people
Once you've created your Secure Note, you can safely share it with other people, whether they are Dashlane users or not. Click the Share button at the bottom left of the note, type in your friend's email address (one or several friends), and click Send. Learn more about secure sharing.
Note: It isn't possible to share Secure Notes with attached files or attach files to shared notes.
Searching for your Secure Notes
Search for a note using Dashlane's Search bar. If you've locked your note, remember that you'll need your Master Password to access this note from the search bar.
