Dashlane helps you autofill your data online and in the apps on your mobile devices. As long as you've updated to the latest version of Dashlane and selected Dashlane as your password manager in your Android device settings, you can access and autofill your Dashlane data.
Minimum requirements for Android
Update your Android app
Dashlane's Autofill on Android is based on a technology developed by Google, and not all web browsers use this technology. Dashlane Autofill currently works best in the browser DuckDuckGo. We try to adapt to differences in other browsers, but we can't guarantee Autofill will always work in all browsers.
Turn on Autofill on Android
Turn on Autofill for devices using Android 11, 12, 13, or 14
Due to a temporary issue on Google's end, you might not be able to turn on Autofill for Android 14 through the Dashlane app. To fix the problem, go to the Passwords, passkeys, and data services section in your Android device settings and select Dashlane. If you don't see a Dashlane option, select None, and a full list of providers should appear.
On Android 12, if Chrome autofill appears instead of Dashlane's, you can change that setting
- Open your Dashlane app.
- Go to Settings and select General.
- Turn on Autofill.
- You're redirected to your device's system settings to select your autofill service. Select Dashlane.
When you turn on Autofill on a device using Android 11 or higher, the setting Keyboard Autofill is selected automatically, so you see the Autofill options at the top of your Android keyboard.
Turn on Autofill for devices using Android 10
If you have Android 10, Dashlane uses your device's built-in autofill. For some apps, Dashlane can even autofill the 2FA codes you receive by SMS.
- Open your Dashlane app.
- Go to Settings and then General.
- In the Autofill section, select Autofill.
- You're redirected to your device's system settings to select your autofill service. Select Dashlane.
Turn on Autofill for devices using Android 9
If you have Android 9, Dashlane uses your device's built-in autofill. For some apps, Dashlane can even autofill the 2FA codes you receive by SMS.
- Go to Settings in your Dashlane Android app.
- Select General.
- In the Autofill section, select Autofill.
- You're redirected to your device's system settings to select your autofill service. Select Dashlane.
Having problems autofilling in browsers? Turn on Autofill fallback
Turn on Autofill fallback for browsers on devices using Android 9
If Autofill isn't working in browsers in Android 9, you can turn on Autofill fallback. This setting turns on the version of autofill that Dashlane uses for browsers in Android 8 and earlier. For Android 10 and later, you don't have the option to turn on Autofill fallback, but Autofill generally works better across browsers for more recent versions of Android.
- Go to Settings in your Dashlane Android app.
- Select General.
- In the Autofill section, select Autofill fallback.
Turn on Autofill for devices using Android 8
- Open your Dashlane app.
- Go to Settings and then General.
- In the Autofill section, select Autofill fallback.
- You're redirected to your device's system settings to select your autofill service. Select Dashlane.
Make sure you allow Dashlane to "Display over other apps" in your app's configuration. After you've turned on Autofill, Dashlane will propose to autofill using your data.
Use Autofill on Android
If you've set up Autofill on your Dashlane Android device, you'll see the Autofill options whenever you log in to an app or website or open a payment or personal information form in an app or browser.
If you have Keyboard Autofill turned on in the latest versions of Android, you'll see the Autofill options at the top of your keyboard. Otherwise, you'll see them in a dropdown when you click the field you want to autofill.
If you don't see the item you want to autofill, you can select a different item. For logins, but not other types of data, you can also create a new item right from the Autofill menu.
Create a new login using Autofill on Android
If Dashlane doesn't have any logins saved for the website you're on, or you want to add a new account for that site, you can create a new login directly in the Autofill options without opening the Dashlane app.
Select Add new login, enter the information for your login, and select Save. Dashlane autofills your information for you right away.
Pause Autofill for an app or website on Android
If you've turned off the Keyboard Autofill setting, you can pause Autofill for an app or website.
- Make sure you have Keyboard Autofill turned off in the General section of your Dashlane Settings.
- Click a field in the form of the app or website where you want to pause Autofill and select Pause.
- Choose whether to pause For 1 hour, For 1 day, or Until I turn it back on. You can unpause Autofill anytime in your Dashlane settings.
Turn Autofill back on for a paused app or website on Android
- Go to Settings in your Dashlane app and select General.
- Select Paused Autofill.
- Select the app or website you want to unpause.
- Turn off the Pause Autofill setting.
Ask Dashlane to autofill a different login for an app or website on Android
If Dashlane isn't showing the correct login in the Autofill options for an app or website, you can search your Dashlane vault and select the correct login. When you select a login from your vault, Dashlane memorizes the choice. The next time you try to autofill information for that app or website, we'll propose the data you previously selected.
To ask Dashlane to Autofill a different item, select View all logins and select a login from the list. If you don't see the login you want, search your logins using the search bar.
If you ask Dashlane to autofill the wrong login, you can correct the mistake in your Autofill settings.
- Go to Settings in your Dashlane app and select General.
- Select Paused Autofill.
- Select the app or website that you accidentally chose to autofill.
- Select the X for the login under Accounts linked via manual Autofill.
Copy and paste if you're having trouble autofilling information on Android
If Autofill isn't working, you can open the Dashlane app, copy the information you need, and paste the info to the website or app.
If you're using Android 10 or later, you can make this process easier by turning on the setting Copy and paste notification. With this setting, you can quickly access and copy all information related to an item from your device's notification bar.
- Go to Settings in your Dashlane app and select General.
- Select General notifications and make sure you've selected Allow notifications for Dashlane.
- Then go back to the General section of your Dashlane settings and turn on Copy and paste notification.
When you copy an item in Dashlane with this setting turned on, you get a push notification that contains all the information for the item. You can go to the app or website where you want to use the item and copy and paste the information you need directly from the push notification without going back to the Dashlane app.
If you've copied and pasted information from the Dashlane app, the information stays on the device's clipboard. If you want the clipboard to automatically clear its contents after 30 seconds, go to Settings, then Security, and make sure the Clear clipboard setting is turned on.

I got a warning about an "Unverified login." What do I do?
When an app wasn't developed in a way that lets Dashlane identify fields for Autofill, an "Unverified login" warning pops up. If you're a developer for an app with this issue, follow the Google Digital Asset Links Getting Started Guide to fix it.
Google Digital Asset Links Getting Started Guide
The warning pops up when you attempt to autofill an app where the login information wasn't saved into your Dashlane account using the new autofill API.
Unlike the Dashlane accessibility service, which we use to autofill your data in Android 8 and with the Autofill fallback setting in Android 9, the autofill API on Android allows you to capture login information from an app when you manually log in and save it into your Dashlane account. If you do so, Dashlane will verify the app, and you'll always be able to log in using the Autofill API.
On the other hand, if the information wasn't captured by the Autofill API—which will be the case for most of your apps if you used Dashlane before Android 8—you get this warning when using apps not developed to be immediately recognizable to Dashlane.
You can use two methods to get rid of this warning:
- Contact the other app's developers so that they can add Dashlane to their "allow list."
Follow the Google Digital Asset Links Getting Started Guide - Delete the login information from your Dashlane account and log in to this app manually so that the autofill API can capture the data and save it in Dashlane again.
Note: If the app login happens on two screens—a screen for you to enter your login only, then another to enter your password—then you, unfortunately, must contact the app's developers.
On Android 12, I want to prevent Chrome's autofill from appearing
On Android 12, even if Dashlane is set up by default as your password manager, Chrome's password manager may appear before Dashlane.
Turn off Chrome's password manager:
- In Chrome on your Android device, go to Settings.
- Select Password Manager. A new screen opens.
- Select Settings.
- Turn off all options.
