Dashlane helps you autofill your data online and in the apps on your mobile devices.
As long as you've updated to the latest version of Dashlane and configured your Android device to use Dashlane as your password manager, you can access and autofill your Dashlane data.

More about Autofill
Turn on Autofill
If you're running Android 11, 12, or 13
Turn on Autofill for devices running Android 11, 12, or 13:
- Open your Dashlane app.
- Go to Settings and select General.
- Turn on Autofill.
Dashlane's Autofill on Android is based on a technology developed by Google. Not all browsers have adopted this technology and each has implemented it differently. Currently, DuckDuckGo has the best integration with this technology, while browsers like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge have only adopted it partially. Though Dashlane tries to adapt to these differences, we can't guarantee that the autofill in these browsers will work in every case.
If you use a keyboard app with integrated autofill support, you can use keyboard autofill. With keyboard autofill turned on, the autofill technology remains the same, but the autofill interface may differ because the results are integrated into your keyboard. If you prefer autofill results to appear directly in page fields as on previous Android versions, disable Keyboard Autofill from General Settings on your Dashlane app.
Note: If you're using manual copy and paste from the app, instead of Autofill, the information stays on the device's clipboard. If you want the clipboard to automatically clear its contents after 30 seconds, go to Settings, then Security, and select Clear clipboard.
If you're running Android 10
If you're running Android 10, Dashlane uses your device's built-in autofill. For some apps, Dashlane can even autofill the 2FA codes you receive by SMS.
Turn on Autofill for devices running Android 10:
- Open your Dashlane app.
- Go to Settings and then General.
- In the Autofill section, select Autofill.
You're redirected to your device's system settings to select your autofill service. Select Dashlane.

Also, unlike on Android 9, you don't have the option to activate the "fallback" experience, and the autofill technology offered by Android 10 is more performant than the one on Android 9.

For such cases, you can also activate Autofill fallback, which is autofill based on your device's accessibility service, just as you would on Android 8 or earlier.
The autofill API's compatibility with apps on your device depends mostly on whether the app developer made it compatible. Dashlane has no way to fix autofill issues that occur if an app hasn't integrated this technology. But if you have turned it on, the accessibility icon appears for you to autofill your data.
If you're running Android 8
If you're running Android 8, Dashlane is able to use an autofill capacity built into your Android device to autofill your apps and uses your device's accessibility service to autofill in your browsers.
Turn on Autofill for apps on devices running Android 8:
- Open your Dashlane app.
- Go to Settings and then General.
- In the Autofill section, select Autofill.
You're redirected to your device's system settings to select your autofill service. Select Dashlane.

To allow the Dashlane Autofill icon to appear, allow Dashlane to "Display over other apps" in your app's configuration. After you've turned on Autofill, Dashlane will propose to autofill using your data.
Use the Autofill feature
Create a new account
If Dashlane doesn't have any logins saved for the website you're on or you want to add a new account for that site, you can create it directly from the login interface.
Select Create new account, enter the new information, select Save, and Dashlane autofills it for you.
Paused and manual Autofill
If you're running Android 8 or later and using the Google autofill API, you're able to pause and manually correct Autofill on an app or website.
If you're trying to autofill your data for a website or an app and Dashlane doesn't offer the right data, you can manually select the correct one. After you make this change, Dashlane memorizes it. When you later want to log in on that same website or app, Dashlane offers to autofill the data you previously selected.
To do this, when the Autofill pop-up appears on the login page, select View all accounts and select a login from the menu.
But what if you chose the incorrect one?
- Go to Settings and then General.
- In the Pause section, under Pause Autofill, select the X for the app or website you want to unlink.
After selecting pause, you can choose to pause Autofill for 1 hour, for 1 day (24 hours), or until I turn it back on.
Turn Autofill back on:
- Open your Dashlane app.
- Go to Settings and then General.
- In the Pause section, under Pause Autofill, select the X for the app or website you want to resume autofilling.
What to do if you see an "Unverified login" warning
When an app wasn't developed in a way that lets Dashlane identify fields for Autofill, an "Unverified login" warning pops up. If you're a developer for an app with this issue, follow the Google Digital Asset Links Getting Started Guide to fix it.
Google Digital Asset Links Getting Started Guide
The warning pops up when you attempt to autofill an app where the login information wasn't saved into your Dashlane account using the new autofill API.
Unlike the Dashlane accessibility service, the autofill API on Android allows you to capture login information from an app when you manually log in and save it into your Dashlane account. If you do so, Dashlane will verify the app, and you'll always be able to log into it using the Autofill API.
On the other hand, if the information wasn't captured by the Autofill API—which will be the case for most of your apps if you used Dashlane before Android 8—you get this warning when using apps not developed to be immediately recognizable to Dashlane.
You can use two methods to get rid of this warning:
- Contact the other app's developers so that they can add Dashlane to their "allow list."
- Delete the login information from your Dashlane account and log in to this app manually so that the autofill API can capture the data and save it in Dashlane again.
Note: If the app login is performed on two screens—a screen for you to enter your login only, then another to enter your password—then you, unfortunately, must contact the app's developers.
Using copy and paste notification
If Autofill doesn't work on a specific page, you have to open the Dashlane app and copy the information you need directly from the item. If you're on Android 10 and later, you can turn on the copy and paste notification setting so that you can quickly access and copy any information related to that item from your device's notification bar.
Once turned on, swipe down while in your current app to see the information without switching back to the Dashlane app.
Turn on copy and paste notification:
- Open your Dashlane app.
- Go to Settings and then General.
- In the Notifications section, turn on Copy and paste notification.
