When you log in to your Dashlane account on a new device, you need to "authorize" that device so we know it belongs to you.
You can authorize your devices by entering a code we send you by email or 2-factor authentication (2FA) token from your authenticator app. In some cases, you can also scan a QR code using another device you've already authorized.
To find out more, select how you want to authorize your device.
Authorize a device with a code sent to you by email
If you haven't turned on 2FA, we send a verification code to your contact email address whenever you log in to a new device.
- Open Dashlane on the device you want to log in to and enter your login email address.
- Open your email and look for a message from us with the code. We send the code to your login email address unless you have a different contact email address.
More about your login and contact email addresses - Enter the code in the app you want to log in to.
- After you enter the code, enter your Master Password and select Log in.
Your device is now authorized, and the next time you log in, we won't ask for a code.
Problems logging in with an email code
If the email isn't in your inbox, check your spam folder. If you haven't received the email, try again with a new code by selecting Resend in the app you're trying to log in to. You can also get a new code by trying to log in again.

Authorize a device with a 2FA token
If you've turned on 2FA or have an authenticator app on a device you've already authorized, we'll ask for a 6-digit token from your authenticator app when you try to log in on a new device. Authenticator apps include Google Authenticator, Duo Mobile, Dashlane Authenticator, and others.
- Open Dashlane on the device you want to log in to and enter your login email address.
- Open your authenticator app and look for a 6-digit token for the Dashlane account you're trying to log in with.
- Enter the token in the app you want to log in to.
- After you enter the token, enter your Master Password and select Log in.
Your device is now authorized. The next time you log in on this device, we won't ask for a token unless you've set up 2FA for every time you log in to Dashlane.

Authorize a device with a QR code
You can authorize a new device by scanning a QR code from a different mobile device that you've already authorized. When you authorize a device in this way, you don't need to enter your email address or Master Password. QR codes are a quick and easy way to set up Dashlane when you get a new phone or computer.
Note: You can use this feature to authorize the Android, iOS (Apple), or Safari apps. You can also use the Android or iOS (Apple) apps—but not the Safari app—to authorize other devices.
- Open Dashlane on the device you want to log in to and select Log in with a QR code. A QR code appears.
- Open the camera on a mobile device that you've already authorized. You can also open Dashlane, go to Settings, and select Add new mobile device to open a camera in the app.
- Select Scan QR code, and use the camera to scan the QR code.
- If you have 2FA turned on, enter the 2FA token from your authenticator app.
Your device is now authorized. You won't need to use a QR code the next time you log in on this device.
