Dashlane sends you alerts to help keep your account and data secure. We offer different types of alerts depending on your plan. Some alerts require you or the admin of your Dashlane professional plan to set up the alert.
What security alerts does Dashlane offer?
I received a message in Slack
Dashlane sends you a message in Slack when you have a compromised, weak, or reused password for any login stored in your Dashlane vault. We also call these messages Risk Notifications. You’ll get these notifications only if your organization has set them up, and if you're part of an organization with Credential Protection.

I received a security alert when entering a password
When you're autofilling a password in Dashlane, you might see a label in the Dashlane pop-up that says Compromised, Weak, or Reused:
- Compromised means your password was found in a security breach
- Weak means your password isn't strong enough and can be guessed easily
- Reused means you've used the same password for multiple logins stored in Dashlane
If you autofill the compromised, weak, or reused password, you'll see a security alert with more details. This alert will appear each time you log in until you change to a more secure password.
If you add a new password or update an existing one, we check whether it has been leaked immediately, so you might see that your login is flagged as compromised even before you save it in your Dashlane Vault.
We call these alerts Credential Risk Alerts. They're available only to members of organizations with Credential Protection and appear in browsers with the Dashlane extension installed.
If your organization has turned on Credential Risk Alerts for logged-out users, you'll see these alerts when entering a compromised or weak password even if you're logged out of Dashlane or don't have a Dashlane account. Ask the admin of your Dashlane plan for more information.

Important: If you use Chrome, we recommend turning off the browser's password alerts to avoid confusion.

I received a security alert in the Dashlane app
All Dashlane customers get standard security alerts and Master Password alerts:
-
Standard security alerts notify you when apps or websites you use experience a security breach, potentially exposing your data. An alert about compromised passwords appears in a pop-up the next time you open Dashlane. Alerts also appear in the Password Health section of your account when you open the Compromised tab.

More about Password Health -
Master Password alerts tell you if your Master Password has been found on the dark web using a highly secure process. This process ensures your password isn’t revealed to anyone, including Dashlane.
Customers with paid Dashlane plans can set up general Dark Web Monitoring. Dashlane scans the web for any of your personal information that someone else may have accessed illegally. If your personal information appears on the dark web, your data may have been involved in a breach, and we'll send you an alert in the Dashlane app.
Important: All Dashlane security alerts follow our zero-knowledge principle. We identify logins involved in breaches without ever having access to your passwords or other data stored in your Dashlane account.
