Your Master Password is what unlocks your Dashlane account. Only you know your Master Password, and it is never shared with or stored by Dashlane.
If you've set up Dashlane on your Android or iOS device to unlock your account with biometrics, you can reset your Master Password using your fingerprint, Touch ID, or Face ID. You then can create a new Master Password and regain access to your account without losing your data.
Biometric reset is also available for the new Safari app.

Who can reset their Master Password with biometrics on Android?
To use this setting to reset your Master Password, you must have previously turned on the Master Password reset setting in the Dashlane app.
This setting is available to anyone (Free, Essentials, Premium, or Business without SSO) using an Android device that offers biometrics compatible with the Dashlane app.
If you're a Dashlane Business plan member who logs in using single sign-on (SSO), this setting isn't available because you don't use a Master Password.
Important! Dashlane turns off the Biometric unlock and Master Password reset settings when you do any of these things:
- Add a new fingerprint to the biometrics settings on your device.
- Turn off either of the settings in the app. Because the two settings are linked, if you turn off Biometric unlock from your app settings, Dashlane automatically turns off the Master Password reset setting.
- Manually log out of the Dashlane app on your device.
To ensure the security of your Dashlane account, you need to enter your Master Password at your next login and turn on both settings again.
