Turn off face or fingerprint unlock – Dashlane

You can turn off the option to unlock Dashlane with your face or fingerprint at any time. After you turn the option off, you'll use your Master Password, single sign-on (SSO), or your account PIN to open Dashlane. For Dashlane in your web browser, you can also remove one unlock method and keep the others.

In your web browser, this option is only available for accounts protected by a Master Password. On mobile and in the macOS app, all Dashlane accounts have this option.

Turn off biometric unlock in your web browser

Open the Vault menu in the top-left corner of the app, and then select Settings.
Select Security settings.
Turn off Biometric unlock.
If asked, enter your Master Password and select Unlock.

Remove one unlock method

If you have more than one method turned on for that device or browser and you want to remove only one of them, follow these steps:

Open the Vault menu in the top left of the app, and then select Settings.
Select Security settings.
In the Biometric unlock section, select View biometric options.
Select the Delete icon, shown as a trash can, for the method you want to remove.

Turn off biometric unlock in the Android app

Select the menu icon, shown as three horizontal lines, to open the side menu.
Select Settings and then Security.
Turn off Biometric unlock.
If asked, enter your Master Password and select Unlock.

Turn off Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone

On your iPhone, select Settings in the bottom menu and then Security. On your iPad, select the gear icon above the left menu, and then Security.
Turn off Use Face ID or Use Touch ID.
If asked, enter your Master Password and select OK.

Turn off Touch ID on iPad or in the macOS app

Select the gear icon above the left menu, and then Security.
Turn off Use Face ID or Use Touch ID.
If asked, enter your Master Password and select OK.
