This article is for admins of Dashlane professional plans. If you want to move your own data to Dashlane, visit Move your data from KeePass to Dashlane.
As an admin of a professional plan, you can migrate your organization's logins from KeePass to Dashlane in five steps.
Step 1: Deploy Dashlane to your organization
If you haven't already, use our deployment guide to create a professional plan. With this guide, you'll learn how to access the Admin Console, choose security settings, and add and onboard plan members.
Visit our Deployment guide for admins
Step 2: Export data from KeePass
Everyone in your organization who uses KeePass needs to export their logins to a CSV or XML file. If your plan members have any problems exporting, contact KeePass support.
CSV files can be imported in your web browser or on Android, but XML files can be imported only in your web browser.

Step 3: Import data from KeePass into Dashlane
Each plan member needs to import the CSV file they exported from KeePass. They can import a CSV file into Dashlane using our web app or Android app but not the iOS (Apple) or macOS app.
Import a KeePass CSV file on the web
Your plan members can follow these steps to import their CSV file on the web.
Import a KeePass XML file on the web
Your plan members can follow these steps to import their XML file on the web.
Important: XML files aren't encrypted, and other people can read them. Delete the XML file from your device after you finish importing your data.
- Log in to Dashlane in your web browser
- Select Import data at the top of the app. If you don't see the Import data button, open the Vault menu in the top left of the app, select Settings, and then select Import data.
- In the Import source menu, select KeePass. Then select Get Started.
-
Drag your XML file to the app or select browse your computer files to search for it, and then select Next.
Note: If you're a member of a professional plan with Spaces turned on, you'll be asked whether you want to import your data to your Personal or Business Space. Select the Space you want to import to, and then select Next.
-
Preview your import. You can change whether Dashlane imports an item as a login, Secure Note, or payment method. You can also choose not to import an item.
Note: Professional plan members whose teams have Spaces can choose whether specific items go to their Personal or Business Spaces.
- Select Import items. You'll see a confirmation with the number of items imported.
Import a KeePass CSV file on Android
Your plan members can follow these steps to import their CSV file on Android.
KeePass allows you to export logins only. So the import will include logins but not other data. Information we couldn't import to a specific field will appear in the Note section of each login.
If your plan members have any issues, ask them to check the common problems at the end of this article, which include information about using the Dashlane CSV template to prepare and import their data.

Step 4: Recreate your sharing settings
After your members import their data into Dashlane, you can recreate any data sharing or group sharing you had in KeePass.

Step 5: Uninstall KeePass
After all your organization's data and settings have been moved to Dashlane, ask your members to uninstall any KeePass apps. Otherwise, they might have problems using autofill and other Dashlane features.
KeePass doesn't provide information on its website about how to turn off or uninstall its apps. If your members need help turning off or uninstalling KeePass, we recommend contacting their customer support.
