In the unfortunate event that a Dashlane account holder has died or become incapacitated, you may want to manage their Dashlane account in a number of ways.
If you know the Master Password and the login email address, you can manage the account as the account holder would:
If you're trying to log in to the account but don't know the Master Password, we're sorry to say that there's nothing we can do to help you.
For a passwordless account, check if the account holder is still logged in to Dashlane on any of their devices. You'll need their PIN code if they're still logged in on a mobile device or in the macOS app. If they're still logged in to the web app, you can open their Dashlane account without their PIN code.
If you're trying to delete the account, cancel the subscription, or get a refund and don't have the Master Password, you can get help through the chatbot. You'll need to provide power of attorney or a death certificate to the Customer Support team.
How to ask for help in the chatbot
To open the chatbot pop-up and start a conversation with Dashy, select the chat icon, shown as a speech bubble, at the bottom of any Help Center page.
When asked for your email address, enter the email associated with the account. When you're asked for a brief description, enter "power of attorney" or "death certificate."
