To use the Dashlane Android app, you can create an account or log in to your existing Dashlane account.
If you aren't sure if your device is compatible with Dashlane, check our minimum requirements.
Supported devices and browsers
If you're part of a Dashlane Business plan with single sign-on (SSO) enabled, check out our SSO article. The process is a bit different. SSO means you use one login application to access Dashlane and other work accounts.

Complete these steps to get started with the Android app:
Step 1: Download the Dashlane app
If you haven't installed Dashlane on your Android device, go to the Google Play Store and download Dashlane.
When you use Dashlane in your Chrome, Edge, or Firefox browser on your computer, you need an extension. An extension—also called a plug-in or an add-on—is a small program you download to add features to your computer browser.
You don't need an extension for your Android because everything you need is contained in the Dashlane app.
Step 2: Create or log in to your Dashlane account
When you open the app for the first time, you can log in to your existing Dashlane account or create a new Dashlane account.
Open the heading that applies to your situation.

I need to create a Dashlane account
This section explains how to create a Dashlane account protected by a Master Password. But you can also create a secure passwordless account for Dashlane. Passwordless accounts are protected with a device-specific PIN or biometrics like your face or fingerprint.
Create a passwordless Dashlane account
To create an account, follow the instructions in the app:
- Open the Dashlane app. At the bottom of the introductory screen, select Get Started.
- Enter the email address you want to use for your account, which is also called your Dashlane ID. You use this address to log in to your Dashlane account on all your devices. This email address is also where you receive our verification emails, but you can always set a different contact address later. Select Continue.
- Create your Master Password, which is the password you use to log in to your Dashlane account. Your Master Password is the only password you need to remember when you use Dashlane. And the most important thing you can do to keep your account secure is to create a strong Master Password. Select Need help? See our tips for help creating your Master Password.
Your Master Password also needs to be easy to remember. We can't send you your Master Password if you forget it. No one at Dashlane knows your Master Password, and we don't store your password anywhere. If you forget your Master Password and haven't turned on a recovery method, you may need to reset your account, which erases all the data you've saved in Dashlane.
- Select Continue.
- Enter your Master Password again and select Continue.
If you don't like the password you created, you can change it anytime.
- Next, follow the onboarding checklist.
Step 3: Follow the onboarding checklist
To help you get started, the app asks how familiar you are with Dashlane. Based on your answer, we determine the best way to get you started with Dashlane. Then, you'll go through a personalized onboarding checklist to walk you through setting up your account.
Step 4: Add your data and details
You can explore the app starting from the main menu.
Select Home and then the plus icon, which prompts a list of sections. In each section, you can add certain types of data:
- Logins: Add your logins and any related details
- Secure Notes: Add information that you want to store securely but have access to everywhere, like your WiFi passwords or software licenses
- Payments: Add your credit cards, bank accounts, and PayPal info that you want Dashlane to autofill
- Personal Info: Add all the contact details that you want Dashlane to autofill, including name, phone number, address, email, company website, and more
- IDs: Add your ID card or passport info that you want Dashlane to autofill

Step 5: Turn on Biometric unlock and Biometric recovery
We recommend that you turn on two settings that can make using Dashlane even easier:
Protect your data
If you forget your Master Password or get locked out of your passwordless account, you can regain access to Dashlane with Dashlane's account recovery key.
After you've set up the recovery key, you can regain access to your Dashlane account without losing any of your data. You'll provide your saved recovery key, complete an identity verification step, and recover your account. If you have a Master Password, we'll also ask you to change your password during the recovery process.
