Turn off other password managers in your browser
If you're using the automatic password manager in a browser like Google Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge, you need to do two things to avoid problems with Autofill and other Dashlane features.
- Turn off password saving in your browser. See the steps for turning off password saving in these browsers:
- Delete all saved passwords for your browser. Otherwise, your browser will continue to autofill password information. See the steps for deleting saved passwords in these browsers:
Turn off the password manager in iCloud Keychain and Safari
If you've been using iCloud Keychain or Safari to manage passwords on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac computer, take these steps to avoid problems with Autofill and other Dashlane features.
- Follow Apple's steps for setting up iCloud Keychain. In the last step, make sure Keychain is turned off.
- If you're using an iPhone or iPad, download the Dashlane iOS (Apple) mobile app and select Dashlane to autofill your information in your device settings.
Download the Dashlane iOS (Apple) app
Turn Autofill on for Dashlane on your iPhone or iPad - If you want to use Dashlane on Safari, we recommend that you install the Dashlane Safari extension. You'll have access to more of Dashlane's features and tools without needing to open the separate Dashlane macOS app. The Safari extension has our feature-rich extension pop-up and in-browser vault view, as well as the best Autofill capabilities that Dashlane has to offer.
Turn off the Google password manager on your Android device
Go to your device settings and search for a section called Passwords and autofill or Passwords, passkeys, and data services. Make sure you've selected Dashlane and not Google as your password manager or autofill service. Depending on your device and the version of Android you're using, this section might have a different name.
You can also go to Settings in the Dashlane Android app, select General, and turn on Autofill. When you turn on Autofill in the Dashlane Android app, we take you to your Android settings, and you can verify that you've turned off the Google password manager.
