Dashlane helps you autofill your data online and in the apps on your mobile devices.
As long as you've updated to the latest version of Dashlane and configured your iOS device to use Dashlane as your password manager, you can access and autofill your Dashlane data.
You can autofill data directly in Safari—the default browser on iOS—but also in Chrome, Firefox, and other apps that support autofill.
Note: Dashlane can autofill only login information on iOS, meaning login details like a password or an email address. The iOS autofill API doesn't offer to autofill other information, like addresses or credit card info.
Set up autofill on iOS
- Go into your iOS device's Settings, select Passwords, then select AutoFill Passwords.
- Once inside AutoFill Passwords, you see the Keychain and Dashlane autofill options. Select Dashlane.
We strongly recommend that you uncheck iCloud Keychain. Having both selected will create a confusing and less-effective user experience.
Log in with autofill on iOS
After you have Dashlane set up to autofill your logins, your experience may vary slightly when you have more than one account on a website, depending on how confident your device is about which login to use.
When at least one login in Dashlane matches a website or app
When at least one login in Dashlane matches a website or app, select the suggested account. Dashlane autofills the username and password.
The small key icon opens a menu allowing you to select other accounts.
When your device is confident it knows which login to use
When your device is confident about which of your logins it should autofill, it suggests that login in place of the keyboard.
The keyboard is still available by selecting the small keyboard icon on the lower left, and your other accounts are available by selecting the small key icon on the lower right.
When your device doesn't recognize any login in Dashlane that matches the website or app
If you don't have a login for a website or app or the login you tried didn't work, your device provides a generic Passwords button that opens a menu allowing you to select other logins. Your device may always provide this option for some browsers and apps.
Using autofill
Create a new login
If Dashlane doesn't have a login saved for the website you're on, or you want to add a new login for that site, you can create a new login directly from the interface.
- Select Add new login.
- Enter the new information and select Save. Dashlane autofills the login.
