Step 1: Start a trial or buy a Password Management plan

Step 2: Integrate Dashlane with your Identity Provider

If you're using Password Management, you can integrate Dashlane with your Identity Provider (IdP) so that members can authenticate with single sign-on (SSO). You can use any SAML 2.0 IdP—such as Azure, Okta, or Google Workspace.

This step also sets you up to provision plan members with Just in Time Provisioning or SCIM.

Tip: We advise you to test both SSO and provisioning methods with a few members before rolling out Dashlane to your entire organization.

Step 3: Extension deployment

After setting up SSO, you can deploy the Dashlane browser extension to all plan members using GPO, Intune, or Jamf. The extension is a crucial piece of software that helps your organization get the most out of Dashlane.

If you're part of an organization with Credential Protection, you can deploy the Credential Protection policies at the same time as the browser extension, allowing you to monitor key security risks even if your employees aren't logged in or don't have a Dashlane account.

Step 4: Prepare your organization for onboarding

To prepare your organization for onboarding, we recommend sending an announcement message and establishing a password policy.

When you deploy, employees receive an email that leads them through prompts and onboards them to Dashlane. We recommend that you also send an email or message in advance to prepare them. You can use these templates as a guide.

Create a password policy

We recommend you create or update your organization's password policy. You can use this template as a guide:

Dashlane is a secure and convenient enterprise password management and credential security solution. Avoid using alternative password managers (also known as password keepers), including saving passwords in your internet browser.

Use Dashlane's Password Generator to create unique, strong passwords for all online accounts.

Keep your Dashlane Password Health score above 90%.

Don't reuse personal passwords for business purposes or the same corporate password for multiple business accounts. Use Dashlane to identify which passwords you are reusing.

Securely and conveniently share passwords with colleagues using Dashlane and no other method.

Refrain from writing passwords down on paper or saving them in a document on your computer.

If you receive a Dark Web Monitoring or breach alert, change the password of the impacted accounts as soon as possible. Time matters. Time can mean the difference between staying safe or being hacked. Think about what you would do if you lost your credit card.

Add 2-factor authentication (2FA) for all critical accounts. Dashlane makes it easy for you to find out which of your saved logins offer 2FA.

Step 5: Provision and invite members

If you've integrated Dashlane with your IdP, you can provision employees and invite them to your plan using Just in Time Provisioning or SCIM.

No matter which plan you have, you have several options for inviting employees to your plan:

Invite them manually through the Users tab in the Dashlane Admin Console
Send invitations to a group by uploading a CSV or TXT file with their email addresses
Create sharing groups and add members to the group, which invites them to the plan automatically

If you need to add more seats to your plan, you can do so at any time in the Account tab of the Admin Console or when inviting new members.

Post-deployment steps

After you've deployed Dashlane, we recommend completing the following steps to maximize the benefits of Dashlane and your admin role.

Follow up on pending invitations: Follow up with any members who still need to accept their invitation to join Dashlane by resending the invite email or link.

Resend the invite email or link
Track your plan's Password Health score: Check your plan's Password Health score every month. Reach out to plan members with low scores and encourage them to take action.
