After you turn on PIN unlock, you can open Dashlane with your 6-digit PIN instead of your Master Password. We'll still ask you to enter your Master Password after you restart your device or manually log out.
For accounts protected by a Master Password, PIN unlock is available anywhere you use Dashlane. For accounts protected by single sign-on (SSO), you can use PIN unlock on mobile or in the macOS app.

These steps don't apply to passwordless accounts protected by a PIN. With a passwordless account, your PIN is the main way you log in.

Unlock Dashlane in your web browser with your PIN
Dashlane locks when you close your browser, restart your device, or select Lock in Dashlane. If you leave your browser open, your account remains unlocked, even if you close the Dashlane browser tab.
- Select the Dashlane D icon in your browser's toolbar to open the extension pop-up.
- Enter your PIN to open your account in the extension pop-up. If you have an account protected by a Master Password, you can select Use Master Password instead if your PIN isn't working.
- Select Open the web app. Dashlane opens in your browser.
Unlock Dashlane on Android with your PIN
Open the Dashlane Android app and enter your PIN to access your vault.
If you enter an incorrect PIN three times, we'll ask you to enter your Master Password.
If you have a passwordless account and enter your PIN incorrectly three times, you're taken back to the login page. To access your account in the Android app, you'll need to use our security challenge or a QR code from a different device. If you're not logged in to Dashlane on other devices, you can use your account recovery key.
