When you create a Dashlane account, you choose one of three login methods: a Master Password, a PIN, or a security key. Each method protects your account differently and works on different devices, so compare the methods before you choose.

Log in with a Master Password
A Master Password is a unique password or memorable passphrase you create to access your Dashlane account. Your Master Password is the only password you need to remember. Create a Master Password that’s long, unique, and hard to guess, but easy for you to remember.
Important: Dashlane can't send you your Master Password if you forget it. No one at Dashlane knows your Master Password, and we don't store your password anywhere. To ensure the security and privacy of your data, we don't have a traditional "reset password" process like other apps.

Log in with a PIN
You can create a Dashlane account protected by a PIN instead of a Master Password. With a PIN, you log in with 6 digits instead of a complex password.
You'll set up a 6-digit PIN for each device where you use Dashlane.

Log in with a security key
A security key is a physical device you use to log in instead of a Master Password. Security keys help protect against phishing.
To use a security key, create your account in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a computer. After you create your account, you can log in to Dashlane with your security key on Android or in Chrome or Edge on any computer.
