Unlock Dashlane with a PIN
PIN unlock works in your web browser and in the Dashlane app on Android, iPhone, iPad, and macOS. After you turn on PIN unlock and create a 6-digit PIN, you enter your PIN instead of your Master Password to unlock Dashlane.
PIN unlock is different from a passwordless account protected by a PIN. In a passwordless account, your PIN replaces your Master Password as the main way to access your account.
Create a passwordless account protected by a PIN
For accounts protected by a Master Password, PIN unlock is available anywhere you use Dashlane. For accounts protected by single sign-on (SSO), you can use PIN unlock on mobile or in the macOS app.

What to know about your unlock options
- These options work only on the device or browser where you set them up. If you use Dashlane on different devices, you can set up unlock options for each device.
- If you log out manually, these options turn off. You can turn them back on after you log in again.
-
If your account has a Master Password, we still ask you to enter it every 14 days and in a few other situations.
-
These options improve the way passkeys work in Dashlane on websites that require an extra user verification step when you log in with a passkey. When you turn on an unlock option, you can complete user verification quickly and securely with your face, fingerprint, or PIN.
-
You can use face or fingerprint unlock instead of your Master Password when autofilling payment methods or protected logins in Chrome or Chromium browsers.
