If you want to use Dashlane on Safari, we recommend that you install the Dashlane Safari extension. You'll have access to more of Dashlane's features and tools without needing to open the separate Dashlane macOS app. The Safari extension has our feature-rich extension pop-up and in-browser vault view, as well as the best Autofill capabilities that Dashlane has to offer.

Is sharing in Dashlane secure?
Unlike emails and text messages, Dashlane is a secure way to share data.
Emails and text messages travel unprotected over the internet and cellphone networks. The email provider or messaging app also copies the message in several places, like their servers and the device of the person you're writing to. Anyone with access to these places can access what you wrote.
When you send a login or Secure Note with Dashlane, we "encrypt" or scramble what you send with the best security system available. No one but you and whoever you choose to share with can access your data.
We recommend never sharing a password or personal information by email or text message. Use Dashlane secure sharing instead.
Share your data
Because of a limitation on Safari's side, people you share with who use Safari need to open links from Dashlane emails directly in the Safari extension.
You can share your data from the web app or the Android or iPhone mobile apps with other Dashlane users. The people you share with receive an invitation by email and an alert in the Notification Center in their Dashlane apps. Select the bell icon in any app to access the Notification Center and the shared item.
Learn more about logins shared with you
The people you share with need to have a Dashlane account, and you need to share with them using the contact email they use with Dashlane. They also need to accept your invitation before accessing the shared item.
If you share with someone who doesn't have a Dashlane account, they receive an email notification and a link to create an account. If they use the same email address to create a Dashlane account, you don't have to re-share the item.

Permission types for shared items
When you share items, you choose whether you want the people you're sharing with to have Full rights or Limited rights:
- Full rights means the people you share with can see, copy, use, edit, and share the item. They can also edit sharing rights and revoke the sharing rights of others, including you.
-
Limited rights means the people you share with can use the item but can't edit, copy, share, or change sharing rights. Your recipients also can't see the password. From the login in their vault, recipients can open the website and Dashlane will autofill the shared login information, including the password.
More about shared logins with limited rights
Important: If you don’t want someone to be able to view or edit your login, we don’t recommend sharing the login. When you share a login with limited rights, the person the login is shared with can’t directly view or edit it in their vault or in a pop-up. Only people with full rights to a login have the ability to save or change a login through the pop-up. Remember that the dots only hide the password from a casual or accidental observer. A determined, technically savvy recipient can possibly reveal the password.
Professional plan members: When you share with a group, all group members receive the same permission type you choose.
Sharing groups in professional plans
Professional plan members can share multiple items with multiple members at the same time with sharing groups. The steps provided throughout this article also apply to sharing groups.
Only professional plan members can share within groups. Your admin creates sharing groups and adds plan members to the groups.
For admins: Create and manage groups
Take a video tour of sharing groups
This video shows how professional plan members can use sharing groups and choose the correct permission. In the Sharing Center, plan members can see the groups and people they've already shared items with.
This video shows the My account menu in the lower portion of the screen. This menu now appears at the top of the screen next to the notifications icon, shown as a bell.
Find shared items in a professional plan sharing group
After a plan member shares items with a group, all group members automatically accept and receive access to the items. Shared items appear in the Sharing Center and in the Logins or Secure Notes sections.
Shared items may take several minutes to appear within a sharing group. If an item doesn't appear, go to My account, then Settings, and select Sync now. You can also log out of the Dashlane Password Manager and log in again to see the update.
Revoke shared access in professional plans
If an item isn't shared by a plan admin or is shared with limited rights, only the person who shared the item can revoke access.
Items are shared and attached to a group and not to you. If you're removed from a sharing group, you no longer have access to shared items in that group.
If you want to revoke access for a single plan member, ask your admin to remove the person from the sharing group.
If you're removed from a professional plan, any items in your Dashlane Password Manager account shared through a sharing group are removed. Sharing groups are available only for plan members.
